Job Summary: 
As the Heavenly Summer Day Camp Team Lead, your role is to provide Epic guest service as you supervise and lead your staff in guiding children aged 5-12 through adventures in Tubing, Gemstone Panning, our Ridge Rider Coaster and other amazing summer activities. The Summer Camp Team Lead will assist in supervising all aspects of daily operations with an emphasis on safety, guest service, and efficient operation of all Summer Activities.
 
Job Specifications:  

  • Starting Wage: $22.00/hr - $24.69/hr 

  • Employment Type: Summer Seasonal 2026 

  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job  Responsibilities:

  • Be a Leader: Supervise the activities team in adherence to service standards. Maintain a safe work area, efficiently performing daily operating procedures, managing staffing levels, adapting to changing business needs and providing timely breaks.
  • Have Fun: Provide experiences of a lifetime to our guests and fellow staff members. Reward and recognize your staff and proactively work to keep the team energy high all season.
  • Be Safe: Work with maintenance team to ensure a high level of safety and efficient operation of activities. Always ensure the safety of guests and employees.
  • Serve Others: Make personal and long-lasting connections with your fellow employees and guests. Engage with our guests and receive guest feedback and special requests.
  • Do Right: Act with integrity – always do the right thing, knowing it will lead to the right outcome. Proactively communicate with Activities Managers to drive improvements in the department. Set clear expectations with your employees and coach them respectfully to ensure their success.
  • Drive Value: Be a positive advocate for Heavenly and the high-quality experience and service we provide. Adapt staffing levels to changing business levels. Provide timely breaks and monitor staff rotations. Adhere to an operations plan that supports the budget and controls costs while ensuring a quality guest experience.
  • Do Good: Help keep our mountain clean and looking good. Help our guests enjoy what the great outdoors has to offer.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to converse clearly and comfortably with a variety of guests and staff.
  • Experience working in camps, youth programs, recreation, or related child-centered settings.
  • Ability to carry heavy loads and work on hilly or uneven terrain.
  • Ability to perform a variety of outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic computer skills and excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License & Satisfactory Driving Record (in accordance with VR Drivers Policy 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid/CPR Certification, or willing to obtain upon hire – preferred.
  • Prior experience in a camp leadership role.
  • Delivering a supportive team environment.
  • Familiarity with Heavenly Mountain Resort preferred.

  • Patience, compassion, and a child-centered approach.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Physical stamina required for sustained outdoor activity.
  • Outdoor environment with regular exposure to varied weather conditions.

 

The expected pay range is $22.00/hr - $24.69/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
