Job Summary:

The Director of Food & Beverage leads all aspects of mountain dining, including high-volume quick service restaurants, catering and events, and warehouse logistics. This role is accountable for financial performance, guest experience, team development, and alignment with Heavenly Mountain’s brand vision and Vail Resorts’ best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute brand strategy for quick serve outlets and catering, ensuring exceptional hospitality and guest service.
  • Oversee financial results for all F&B outlets, maximizing revenue, managing costs of goods sold (COGS), labor, and expenses to achieve contribution targets.
  • Partner with F&B and resort leadership to ensure quality, service, and menu innovation.
  • Lead departmental strategies for revenue generation, outlet branding, and future capital projects.
  • Implement and execute Vail Resorts F&B SOPs and Best Practices, ensuring consistency across all outlets.
  • Ensure compliance with state liquor laws, health regulations, sanitation, and safety practices.
  • Drive environmental sustainability initiatives, including recycling and waste diversion targets.
  • Collaborate on recruiting, hiring, and workforce planning to achieve staffing and service goals.
  • Build, develop, and hold accountable a talented management team aligned with resort goals and culture.
  • Maintain facilities to high standards for safety, cleanliness, and appearance.
  • Serve as a key member of the resort’s senior leadership team, contributing to overall resort and community experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in multi-unit, high-volume operations.
  • Proven leadership growth and team development skills.
  • Demonstrated success in guest service initiatives.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including P&L management.
  • ServSafe and TIPS Certifications (required during onboarding).
  • English proficiency.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and change management skills.
  • Strong leadership, diplomacy, communication, and professionalism.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, HR/Payroll systems (PeopleSoft, Infogenesis, Avero).
  • Resort and event experience (weddings, banquets).

 

The expected pay range is $99,043 - $131,902 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
