The supervisor driver is responsible for all operational functions of demand-responsive, fixed route, and special event transportation. The driver supervises and manages driving staff of approximately 8-15 drivers in a fast-paced, guest service-oriented team environment. The supervisor driver is a self-starting individual who doesn’t react, but observes, orients, decides, and acts quickly and efficiently to accomplish the job.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain compliance with all U.S. Department of Transportation, State of California Public Utilities Commission, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Develop and manage safety and training program
  • Manage DISA, driver DQF's, Drug and alcohol screening program, all filings, reporting, renewals, and operating in compliance with all CPUC, and FMCSA regulatory standards.
  • Actively participate in Ski Resort Transportation and Base Operations best practice groups.  
  • Actively grow and develop department bench strength, through delegating workloads at appropriate levels for individual growth, and utilize annual review performance management system to document successes and areas for improvement.   
  • Oversee the completion of department accident and incident reporting, investigation, and related performance improvement planning.
  • Builds, maintains, and executes the day-to-day transportation schedule to include random special-resort needed transports. In addition, manages the Employee Shuttle Driver(s) schedule and fills in when needed.
  • Monitors and documents all policy violations, performance issues, guest and employee commendations/comments/complaints.
  • Coordinates maintenance needs of all vehicle fleet with internal vehicle maintenance shop and external contractors.
  • Makes regular contact with employees to ensure maximum shift coverage using either online scheduling database or other means as necessary.
  • Responds to, manages, and documents accidents and emergencies involving all Transportation equipment including Shuttle buses, Jitneys, and any other applicable vehicles.
  • Monitors road and traction conditions. Keeps all drivers aware of any needed traction sand and traction devices – throughout the entire day or event evolution. Mentors, trains, and coaches transportation employees on a daily basis.
  • Facilitates and attends all monthly team meetings. Must be able to cover dispatching, driving, and training shifts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:


  • Hold and maintain California Class A, B CDL with applicable passenger endorsement
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, Email and internet proficiency.
  • 4 year degree, or 4 years of progressive experience in supervising/managing a passenger transit system.
  • Previous transportation, guest service, and training experience. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exemplary guest service skills
  • Able and willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Able to work continuously through the winter season without extended vacations
  • Ability to pass random drug tests


  • 2 years of department-specific experience
  • Previous T&L management and budgeting experience
  • Public transportation experience
  • Ability to live On-mountain


The budgeted range starts at $18.00 - $24.72.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
