Job Summary:

Complete oversight, management, and leadership of all aspects of resort operations including but not limited to mountain operations, transportation and parking, summer operations, food and beverage, ski and snowboard school, base operations, special events, guest services, community relations, resort safety, and other areas as applicable. GM responsibility for Crotched Mountain Resort and matrix oversight for finance, sales & marketing, communications, human resources, governmental affairs, and resort safety.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time / Year Round
  • The budgeted range starts at $82,800 - $106,425 + annual bonus + equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

Job Resonsibilities:

Drive Results:

  • Prioritize and adapt in constantly changing business and environmental setting.
  • Be accountable for all business performance of the Resort including expense management and revenue generation while meeting or exceeding all metrics and goals.
  • Lead a sphere of influence that includes direct management of resort functions and indirect partnership of corporate functions including Sales & Marketing, Information Technology, Finance, HR, Development, and others.
  • Successfully recruit, hire, coach, and develop an industry leading management team; ensure management team is aligned with Vail Resorts’ strategies, goals, values, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all Resort records are updated and that the necessary permits are in place for continued operation and ski areas are fully compliant with local, state, and federal rules and laws. Ensure compliance with all internal policies.
  • Oversight review of all workers compensation and property loss reports in all resort operation departments in order to make adjustments and improve performance.

  • Build and sustain strong, positive relationships with key community stakeholders. This includes city, county, and state agencies and media - leading these groups toward alignment with key Resort and company goals and initiatives. 
  • Maintain and increase subject matter expertise of ski and snowboard industry, stay abreast of industry trends and news, increase industry relationships, and use expertise to influence positive change throughout Vail Resorts.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years in leadership role within the hospitality or travel & leisure industry
  • 3+ years in senior management role and managing multiple departments within the hospitality or travel & leisure industry
  • Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office fluency
  • Written communication and public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated financial management skills.
  • Highly preferred:
    • Training in leadership, performance and goal setting.
    • Knowledge of all compliance areas of oversight through regulatory agencies.

 

The expected pay range is $82,800 - $110,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
