Job Summary:
The Resort Operations Manager directly oversees the Rental, Retail and Uniform departments, to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, staff performance and budget management. Additional responsibilities include oversight of day-to-day operations, staffing, ordering and problem solving. The Resort Operations Manager is a key leader part of local resort leadership teams, responsible for resort growth strategies, mentorship and culture.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee rental, retail, and uniform operations
  • Create and maintain a productive and safe work environment, including implementing an dretaining all company mandated safety-related training and assessments
  • Hire and onboard seasonal employees with HR services
  • Train, develop and coach supervisory and frontline team members
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate professionally to staff and guests. Respond and engage with customer suggestions, complaints, and recognition.
  • Anticipate business volumes and trends, and prepare staffing and inventory accordingly
  • Support group and Epic for Everyone programming
  • Maintain electronic filing system through attention to detail and timeliness
  • Ensure all locations are clean, have updated materials, and present a professional appearance to our guests, staff, and purveyors.
  • Design and implement the uniform distribution/collection processes and procedures
  • Ensure all weekly scheduling needs are met in a timely manner, and adjusted as needed
  • Partner with the resort senior leadership to contribute to the overall betterment of the guest experience, employee experience, and financial results of the resort.
  • Execute daily operations by opening and/or closing retail/rental outlets, including filling front-line employee positions as necessary, especially during non-peak periods.
  • Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of Vail Resorts and local resort
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of retail sales and customer service
    • Outdoor sporting goods experience – Preferred
    • Previous snow sports rental experience – Preferred
  • Minimum 2 years management experience
  • High school degree or equivalent- Required
  • College degree – Preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old – Required
  • Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness
  • Flexible schedule required including evenings, holidays and weekends
  • Team-building skills
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of products and trends within the outdoor sporting goods industry
  • Proficient in MS Office Products; Excel, Work, Outlook and Power Point

 

The expected pay range is $54,754 - $76,561. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
