Snowmaking Team Lead - Winter Seasonal

The Snowmaking Team Lead is responsible for accomplishing department objectives, training, organizing and motivating staff at different levels, monitoring and evaluating performance.  A Team Lead is expected to understand all facets of snowmaking operations, follow all safety guidelines and demonstrate strong judgment and set the example for other seasonal snowmakers in the department.



  • Assist department management with the on-boarding, training and management of all snowmaking staff.
  • Oversee the day-to-day field operations of all staff, including updating and managing the daily run list during production season.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of staff, including coaching, counseling and discipline.
  • Lift and carry 75lbs in a high-alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions. 
  • Be able to ski/snowboard at an expert level. 
  • Have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a variety of vehicles in safe manner. 
  • Maintain all snowmaking equipment, machines and resources including inventory and maintenance records.
  • Support Maintenance Techs and Heavy Equipment operators as needed.
  • Maintain strong communication and working relationships with other BC Mountain/Resort departments, including Grooming, Race, Vehicle Maintenance, Public Safety and HR. 
  • Support the department managers and supervisors with other duties as assigned.



  • High School education or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a snowmaker or snowmaking controller. Previous knowledge of Mountain is preferred.
  • 1-3 seasons in a leadership or lead role preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google apps
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Excellent communication skills.  Must be able to communicate verbal directions over the radio. Ability to work long hours including overnight shifts and weekends.
