Job Summary

The Beaver Creek Security Lead position will assist the team leads with the supervision of all Welcome Gate operations for Beaver Creek Resort. Responsibilities include supervision of high level guest service to those who enter the gates as well as guest check in. This position will also supervise the Welcome Gate Staff, on-going employee training, assist with the scheduling as well as all operations of the BC dispatch system. In addition, this position will assist the Beaver Creek Resort Manager and Assistant Manager in providing the highest level of guest service for Beaver Creek Resort.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the revision and update of all important databases; Property representatives, Competitive Edge, Emergency Book
  • Efficiently execute multitask activities such as guest requests, radio dispatch, guest arrivals, contact property representatives, and the operation of the dispatch system
  • Administer overall team development that includes on-the-job training as well as continuing growth and development
  • Evaluate and monitor procedural processes on a daily basis to ensure best practices within operations at all times
  • Perform emergency and non-emergency dispatcher duties, assisting guest and homeowners with questions and complaints, while operating a computer and radio
  • Direct oversight of the resort dispatchers who dispatch for the Public Safety, Metro District, Parking, and Village Operations departments ensuring the proper level of dispatching professionalism within this group
  • Organize, coordinate, supervise, monitor and evaluate all daily operations of assigned gate staff functions including dispatch,  welcome gate staff of guest, and guest check-in
  • Assist with monthly reports for the BC Metro District and the BC Resort Company
  • Responsible for hiring, training, disciplining and separating “Welcome Gate” staff with the oversight of the Manager
  • Ensure that proper safety and security procedures are followed by all staff on a constant basis
  • Assist with the scheduling and the facilitation of departmental meetings
  • Plan and host staff training programs to update,  motivate, empower and inspire the  Beaver Creek “Welcome Gate” staff
  • Facilitate effective and regular communication with other departments or company personnel (Vail Resorts, Beaver Creek Resort Company etc.) to plan, coordinate, and evaluate activities, services, and events, policies, procedures, exchange information, and resolve problems
  • Provide quality service and experiences to our guests at all times
  • Adhere to and uphold the highest professional standards of Beaver Creek and Vail Resort on a daily basis for all “Welcome Gate” staff
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required: some college preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum of four years guest services related experience
  • Must be able to work unsupervised
  • Minimum 1 year experience managing and working with a team
  • Valid US Driver's License
  • Must be proficient with computers, programming, and Microsoft Office 
  • English must be able to speak and write proficiently
  • Must be able to stand for up to extended hours at a time
  • Promote positive team dynamics
  • Highly organized individual with an excellent track record of team development and guest relations 
  • Must complete all work at the Dispatch/computer center
  • Ability to work in adverse weather while performing duties at the gate
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Ability to type for extended periods of time
  • Use of common sense
  • Knowledge of resort and surrounding areas
  • Associates degree or equivalent trade school or years of work experience



The budgeted range starts at $22 - $28.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
