Job Summary:

The Training Manager leads the strategy, design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training for the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School. This role ensures training aligns with PSIA-AASI standards, operational needs, instructor performance, school priorities, and Beaver Creek’s renowned guest experience. Responsible for managing and all training curriculum, resources, tools, schedules, and platforms (including bcsnowpro.com), this position partners with the Sr. Director, Ski and Snowboard School leadership team, Health & Safety, PSIA-AASI, and Vail Resorts peers to ensure highest quality, innovative and effective training programs including standardized Vail Resorts training as appropriate.

 

This role also contributes to the strategic direction, culture, and operational success of the Ski and Snowboard School while supporting business needs during peak periods.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $58,461.98 - $77,126.78 /Annum
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs across all disciplines, age groups, ensuring alignment with PSIA-AASI national standards.
  • Integrate guest service and teaching excellence, risk awareness, and safety into all training programs.
  • Support standardized training initiatives across Vail Resorts.
  • Evaluate training quality and effectiveness using instructor observations and assessments, guest experience insights, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate, track and train leadership team on conducting quality On Snow Observations.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director and leadership team to guide school direction, culture, and quality standards.
  • Lead and support leadership development, Safety Summit, Assistant Manager training. and monthly leadership on-snow training sessions.
  • Manage and develop Lead Trainers and Instructor Trainers to ensure alignment with training strategy.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and development-focused culture within the school.
  • Develop, publish, and maintain all training curriculum, materials, and resources (e.g., handbooks, guidebooks, onboarding materials), and regularly contribute training content to School newsletters.
  • Partner with Health & Safety to implement safety initiatives and business plans into all training and coaching practices.
  • Liaison with PSIA-AASI and external training organizations to coordinate exams, clinics, external trainers, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and early-season engagement of instructors.
  • Manage training budget with fiscal responsibility and adjust programming based on business needs.
  • Other duties as required/assigned.

 

Job Requirement:

  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years ski/snowboard instruction and training experience
  • PSIA/AASI Clinic Leader/Examiner (or higher)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in written and spoken English


Preferred:

  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Public speaking experience

 

The expected pay range is $58,461.98 - $77,126.78 /Annum. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
