The Lift Maintenance Operator is responsible for assisting mechanics and electricians in all aspects of lift related repairs and maintenance. Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to cleaning of lift equipment and shops, vehicle pre-operational check out and upkeep, assisting in repairs and preventative maintenance, overhaul of grips and carriers, operation of lifts for maintenance work, and working at heights.  Job duties are performed in all types of indoor and outdoor mountain environments. Additional responsibilities include informing the Lift Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, and/or Lift Dispatch on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, or lift system malfunctions.  This position requires adhering to Vail Resorts Health & Safety as well as Lift Maintenance department policies and procedures.  Safety is paramount and a high level of awareness relating to safe vehicle and UTV operation is also required.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older - required
  • High school diploma or equivalent - required
  • Valid US driver's license - required
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check - required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, comprehend and understand English fluently - required
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems - preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. - required
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours without sitting - required
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to feel, reach - required
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and crouch - required
  • Able to work holidays, weekends, evenings as necessary - required
  • Ability to work and communicate effective in a team environment - required
  • Ability to work at heights up to 100' - required
  • Ability to work in a variety of outdoor mountain weather environments - required
  • Proficient with some hand and power tools - required
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a mechanical, electrical, or construction field - preferred
  • Minimum of 1 season in lift operations - preferred
  • Working knowledge of Doppelmayr and CTEC lifts - preferred
  • In-person interview and resume - required

 

The budgeted range starts at $17.00 - $17.88.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
