Job Summary:

Maximize sales and profitability of golf shop retail operations through the development and implementation of strategies, analysis, and appropriate reactions to sales trends along with overall support of golf shop sales, growth margin and turnover objectives

 

Job Specifications

  • Starting Wage: $65,000- $70,000
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full-Time / Year-Round

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a written buying plan according to the established yearly sales plan that is submitted to the Head Professionals and General Manager/Director of Golf on an annual basis.
  • Responsible for the buying, selling, and inventory management for both the Member and Resort golf operations maximizing sales and profits.
  • Complete accurate forecasts evaluating financial components based on current trends, and knowledge of future events impacting business.
  • Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotions; authorizing clearance sales, and studying trends.
  • Develop and execute seasonal merchandise plans, visual presentation guidelines, and pricing strategies with the Head Professional and General Manager/Director of Golf. 
  • Responsible for training and education of Assistant Professionals and Shop Assistants on all facets of merchandising point of sale, and operational policies/procedures. 
  • Seeks out high-end quality vendors to ensure members’ expectations are met.
  • Oversee POS set up, product pricing, and manage inventory SKU set up in both locations.
  • Manage inventory transfers so AP has received files to eliminate variances.
  • Develop annual buying plan to sell in excess of $650,000 in gross merchandise sales.
  • Input all accounts payable information into both Jonas and Coupa and send to AP for payment.
  • Manage Onbase for problem invoices and reconcile all monthly statements.
  • Maintain and distribute the vendor database in Coupa, Jonas, and professional golf staff with current ACH information and new vendor requests with procurement.
  • Manage month-end reports to ensure the product has been received and paid to proper accounts in both Jonas and Coupa to minimize variances in both locations.
  • Manage the special order process with golf shop staff to ensure order accuracy, on-time delivery, and handling of any returns. Manage communication with members throughout the process.
  • Attends approved merchandise-buying shows and conferences.
  • Assists with all on-site member golf and social events.
  • Maintain a clean, refreshed, and organized golf shop and store room.
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager/Director of Golf.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; college degree preferred   
  • Merchandise and Retail Buying, Displaying, Sales, and Management experience
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Licenses/Accreditations: PGA of America, Association of Golf Merchandisers, Serv Safe; AED & First Aid
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, POS, databases, Publisher, Jonas, Social Media, Coupa
  • Fluent communication both written and verbal in English
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and highly organized person capable of handling a large volume of detailed and multi-dimensional tasks, ability to prioritize workload, self-starter.
  • Previous Retail or Club Experience within the hospitality, hotel, and or golf environment is preferred   

 

The expected pay range is $65,000 - $70,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
