The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the facility maintenance functions for all on mountain facilities at Beaver Creek, the base area facilities that roll up through the mountain division, and the signature club’s facilities, including Beaver Creek and Red Sky Ranch golf courses.  This includes all water and wastewater infrastructure, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and repair, and carpentry work.

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all building systems, including but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, food service equipment, doors and windows, roofs, and exterior and interior walls.  Focus on preventative maintenance, while ensuring all breakdowns are repaired in a timely and efficient fashion.
  • Manage the on mountain water and wastewater systems, including, but not limited to pipelines, pump stations, sewer grinders, storage tanks, monitoring systems, and air scrubbers.
  • Manage the department’s sustaining capital budget, as well as assisting other departments with their capital projects when the scope of the project falls under our area of expertise.  Ensure capital dollars are being used in a way to drive the most value for the company.
  • Ensure operations are conducted safely on a daily basis, and all company and departmental policies are understood and being adhered to at all times.
  • Manage a team of coordinators and skilled service technicians, leveraging each individual’s unique talents for optimum departmental output. This includes all hiring, coaching, talent development, and performance management functions.
  • Ensure each individual’s growth through clear expectations and goal setting, and deliver timely and clear feedback.  Ensure accountability through regular follow up with direct reports through the performance management process.
  • Assist with water and waste water systems at Red Sky Ranch, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience of a team of at least 5 people or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a maintenance field, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Intermediate Skier / Snowboarder
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in English, speaking and writing

Preferences

  • Experience with as many of the following trades; HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Building Controls, Refrigeration, and Domestic Drinking Water Pipeline and Pump stations
  • Fluent in Spanish, speaking
  • Previous Vail Resorts maintenance experience, either mountain or hospitality
  • Knowledge of Beaver Creek Resort
