Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the year-round operation and management of the snowmaking department. This includes winter operations and off-season maintenance, and capital projects. In addition, this position is responsible for responsible purchasing according to the departmental budget and all training and hiring for the snowmaking department. Therefore, the individual in this position must exercise common sense and sound decision-making skills even in stressful situations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Year-round management of the snowmaking department
  • Use institutional guidelines to maintain a healthy culture of safety
  • Foster an inviting and cohesive atmosphere
  • Train new hires as well as continue to coach all snowmakers regardless of skill level
  • Work with snow surfaces manager and snowmaking supervisors to fulfill hiring needs
  • Implement a maintenance routine for critical snowmaking infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and solve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems
  • Manage capital projects related to pipe installations, electrical upgrades, and equipment replacement
  • Manage and close payroll as needed


Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of Snowmaking and Mountain Ops experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Microsoft suite of applications
  • Snowmachine & UTV/ATV operational experience
  • Intermediate snowboarder/skier
  • Welding & heavy equipment operation experience
