Job Summary:

The Field Marketing Manager for Hunter Mountain is responsible for bringing to life the resort brand strategy developed by the centralized brand marketing team in order to improve the guest experience. This is achieved through events and activations, partner integrations, in-resort messaging and signage, guest-facing promotional material, content capture and social media storytelling, and assisting with media relations. The Field Marketing Manager sits on the Communications and Resort Marketing Team and works cross-functionally to serve as the on-the-ground marketing representative of the resort.

This candidate will have a strong background as a Brand Generalist, with an ability to activate success in a highly-matrixed model across numerous stakeholders and departments, manage multiple priorities, work closely with internal operational departments and vendors and with various town/local/community groups and organizations.

This person will be responsible for delivering results safely and on-time in a fast-paced environment and with an understanding of others’ needs. Flexibility and a positive attitude are crucial.


This is a 10-month position, with May and August as off months.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop and collaborate on events and brand activation plans that bring the resort brand to life. By developing a deep understanding of the market and the resort brand, and bringing an ability to develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams to turn ideas into action, this candidate will play a role in the ideation and execution of events, activities and activations that elevate the guest experience in a way that is most meaningful to guests. This includes collaborating with the centralized brand marketing team, event planning, and event execution oversight including staffing, contracts, signage, partnerships and coordination. This position will direct external agencies and contractors, vendors, partners and event staff as needed in order to execute activations, events and brand experiences. Also key is developing strong community partnerships to collaborate on third-party events and activations that support the resort’s goals, particularly in summer.

  2. Execute partner integration on-mountain/in-resort in partnership with the Strategic Alliance team. This responsibility involves ideating and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create opportunities and value for partners in-resort. This includes delivering successful partner events, activations, signage and other deliverables, as well as facilitating partner photo shoots. This role acts as the on-the-ground marketing representative to align and support partner and resort brand goals.

  3. Drive management of resort social media platforms. This role includes social and digital media content ideation, content capture, posting, management of social media channels and reporting. This person will bring the resort brand to life through social media channels, while also managing guest interaction on social media platforms by responding to guest questions and comments swiftly, positively and with approved messaging. This candidate will bring experience or knowledge of social media platforms as well as experience with or an interest in learning enterprise-wide social media and website content management platforms.

  4. Lead on-mountain/in-resort content capture and drive the promotion of the resort. In this role, this person will lead all in-resort content capture for the resort, hosting brand and photo shoots with third-party creative and content vendors that will be used for social media and website content, and other Marketing and PR purposes; Facilitate the flow of content from the resort location into the centralized content and creative teams. The candidate will bring an ability to manage one part-time, internal Content Specialist as well creative vendors and contractors.

  5. Direct and execute in-resort messaging, signage and guest-facing promotional materials in and around the resort. In this role, this person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of ensuring the manifestation of the resort’s brand as part of the in-resort guest experience as well as promoting company-wide initiatives and lines of business, which includes, but is not limited to, creation and deployment of in-resort signage and messaging and guest communications.

  6. Negotiate contracts, site fees and relationships with external companies and organizations, budgeting and reporting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to effectively project manage and collaborate with various stakeholders to develop budgets and prioritize workflow, managing complex, high-volume and rapidly changing information to bring solutions to problems and opportunities.

  7. Assist field-based PR teams with hosting journalists, meeting with stakeholders and other communications duties as needed. This person will bring a knowledgeable, professional attitude to serve as a face for the resort, and a willingness to learn and jump in on a range of projects. Flexibility, responsiveness and proactivity are crucial.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Four-year college degree required. Emphasis in marketing, business and/or communications preferred.

  • Work Experience: Five years of field marketing, event, public relations or other related experience

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Word, Excel, Office, Social Media channel familiarity

  • English required

  • Excellent English language and writing skills.

  • Content capture/social media.

  • High degree of organization, attention to details and level of professional conduct. Self-starter, ambitious and multi-tasker.
