Position Status: Full Time (30-40 hours/week) Seasonal, Hourly. Seasonal positions can be differentiated from year round jobs as they have predefined start and end dates. These dates may vary due to seasonal business fluctuations.

CHRISTINE'S

Welcome to full-service dining with mountaintop style. Open for lunch in the summer and winter, Christine’s is located at the top of the Solar Coaster Express, in the Rendezvous Restaurant on Blackcomb Mountain (1,860 metres/6,102 feet).

 

STEEP'S GRILL & WINE BAR

One of Whistler’s full-service dining restaurant, Steeps offers a menu that reflects the fine foods available in British Columbia as well as regional wines in flights, by the glass or bottle. Steeps is located on Whistler Mountain inside the Roundhouse Lodge (1,850 metres/6,069 feet).

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Complying with Whistler Blackcomb’s HACCP and Food Safe Programs.
  • Ensuring that food is received, stored, handled, prepared, and presented in a timely hygienic manner.
  • Preparing food on demand and sometimes in short notice.
  • Keeping the kitchen area clean, tidy and organized including the freezers and coolers.
  • Assisting in front-line service when necessary.
  • Preparing food for the following day.
  • Ensuring that temperature monitoring is done correctly, timely, documented & that any critical limits are brought to the attention of your Supervisor.
  • Reporting any Food Safe issues that can’t be corrected to your Supervisor immediately.
  • You may be required to assist other departments as needed.
  • Always showing up on time, in uniform, and adhering to the grooming policy.

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate our core values: safety first, striving to be the best, and showing that we care
  • Food Safe Certificate 1 (Course will be offered)
  • Cooking exposure to various kitchen machinery such as dishwashers, grills, fryers and ovens is necessary
  • 1 year experience in a high-volume kitchen facility is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to handle a station.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Basic knife skills.
  • Proof of clear criminal record check.
