What you’ll be doing:

  • To continually strive to exceed our Guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and staff as the best mountain experience again and again
  •  Must be able to deliver prompt and safe first aid to our injured guests/workers. Able to transport the injured in any kind of snow conditions safely by toboggan. This would include very heavy patients from anywhere on Whistler Blackcomb mountains. Work, at times in high stress and time sensitive situation to manage resources and patient condition simultaneously.
  • Coordinate transport of injured persons to appropriate facility.
  • Must be able to transport all work run material in a safe manner. This includes having the physical ability to lift and carry all material in order to complete the task in challenging terrain. This includes lifting bundles of bamboo, rope, steel posts, boxes of low light markers.
  • Continually monitor Trail and Slope conditions to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.
  • Climb Lift towers up to 30+ meters in height.
  • Carry out lift evacuation protocols in challenging weather /terrain. Involves working at height as per above.
  • Handle explosives in challenging weather conditions. This includes navigating high-alpine terrain with up to 15+ kilos of explosives in your pack. It also requires climbing in challenging terrain with a full pack.
  • Be able to operate snowmobiles in a safe manner and in challenging terrain.
  • Assist other departments as required.
  • Always show up on time, in uniform, and adhere to the grooming policy!

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate our core values: Safety First, Striving to be the best, and We Care
  • Proof of Level III Occupational First Aid certification or Outdoor Emergency Care Aid certification (Wilderness first aid is not accepted). PCP and ALS licenses may be accepted at the discretion of Medical Advisor.  ALS and PCP license holders must also be active employees of British Columbia Ambulance Service.
  • Must be a strong skier and be able to ski in all snow conditions. Top of Whistler Blackcomb to the valley is 5000 vertical feet. (Due to safety reasons snowboarders cannot be considered)
  • Be comfortable working at heights
  • Proof of Canadian Avalanche Association Operations Level 1
  • Foreign language fluency is a definite asset, especially Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, or Cantonese
  • Able to interact well within a team atmosphere
  • Must be physically robust and able to adapt to and react to the various physical challenges that present themselves.
  • Required to complete a satisfactory criminal record check
  • Must possess a valid BC driver license
  • Previous snowmobile driving experience an asset
  • Proof of clear criminal record check
