Position Status: Full Time (30-40 hours/week) Seasonal, Hourly. Seasonal positions can be differentiated from year round jobs as they have predefined start and end dates. These dates may vary due to seasonal business fluctuations.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Setting an excellent example and striving to improve safety, service and job satisfaction
  • Assisting with the selection, training and development of staff
  • Conducting employee reviews and participating in employee recognition programs
  • Ensuring adherence to all operational and safety procedures, resulting in safe and efficient operation of the lift and other equipment (trucks, snowmobiles, etc.) and providing a safe environment for guests and staff
  • Establishing and maintaining all operational aspects of the lift including ramps, mazes, tools and signs.  Maintaining the highest house-keeping standards, ensuring a groomed, uncluttered, litter-free environment
  • Providing leadership, promoting team spirit and cooperative work ethics; providing the most outstanding examples of friendly, cooperative relationships with our guests, other staff and within the Lift Team
  • Showing initiative in handling routine matters and quick, thoughtful judgment in emergency situations
  • Informs the Lift Operations Manager of any unusual or unsafe situations not only in an assigned zone, but anywhere at Whistler Blackcomb
  • Prior to public operation of any lift, ensuring all safety and operational procedures are complete
  • Ensuring lift host lift assignments on a daily basis
  • Ensuring proper and complete documentation of lift logs, accident and maintenance forms
  • Attending and participating in all employee meetings
  • Always wearing a clean, complete uniform (with nametag) and maintain grooming standard as when hired
  • Assuming responsibility of a Lift Zone and Lift Team and providing leadership and coaching
  • At every opportunity, greeting every guest in a friendly manner, making eye contact whenever possible

  • Always show up on time, in uniform, and adhere to the grooming policy!

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be mature, energetic and dependable, with the ability to take initiative and work unsupervised
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and guest relations skills
  • Ability to set the standard in the industry for efficient and safe lift operations
  • Must possess a valid BC driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Previous lift operations experience
  • A proven record as a team leader and motivator
  • Must have a good knowledge of mechanics used on lifts and be capable of troubleshooting on all lift equipment
  • Must satisfactorily complete the required lift exams
  • Proof of clear criminal record check
