Vail Mountain Maintenance Coordinator - Year Round

Organizes the Mountain Services team in a manner that supports and responds to calls received by all departments on Vail Mountain. Answers phones, responds to work orders, and maintains the work order system, perform daily checks of all building's direct digital control systems.  Assist with project scheduling and vendor relationships. Oversees all purchasing, under the supervision of the Mountain Services Manager. Manage technicians payroll and performs other administrative duties as needed.


Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):


  • Performs daily checks of each facility's  energy management systems.
  • Generates work orders to investigate out of the ordinary situations discovered.
  • Answers phones and dispatches technicians in accordance with the Mountain Service's priority list.
  • Oversee and anticipate all materials requests made by the technicians.
  • Manage the payroll process for all Mountain Service personnel through People Soft
  • Provides oversight of the mountain janitorial staff. 
  • Assist with the scheduling of jobs, outside contractors, vacations, capital projects, and any other activity born of Mountain Services
  • Assist the manager with maintaining strict control over operating and capital budgets. Including Journal Entry for the Sign Shop and PCards.
  • Bill out Larkspur monthly for work orders completed and parts used. 
  • Oversee and manage the janitorial subcontractor in all contracted facilities.




  • High School Diploma or Equivalent - required
  • Knowledge of internal workings of Vail Mountain and resort experience - preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of facility electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning.
  • 1 Year of supervisory experience - preferred
  • Valid state issued driver's license - required
  • Must be able to manage a computer base DDC (direct digital controls) systems, and be able to manage a computer based work order system, as well as, Word, Excel, and Internet skills
  • Read, write, speak English - required
  •  Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong intermediate skier or snowboarder - required
