The Hospitality Marketing Manager drives all marketing-related projects and tasks for the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort with the primary goal to drive revenue and room nights across all seasons. The ideal candidate will focus on the strategic development and execution of lodging offers, the ownership of all marketing channels and the supervision of the Hospitality lines of business including the property restaurants and spa. The Hospitality Marketing Manager should have a well-rounded hospitality marketing background, including experience managing online and offline tactics, a proven leadership record and the ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally and divisionally to reach business goals.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Work as part of the resort marketing team and partners closely with the regional sales team, field marketing, revenue management, reservations, and front office team members to develop effective marketing strategies and execute campaigns
  • Supports the Hospitality Marketing Manager at the Resort level in the planning and execution of the strategic marketing plan and lead the execution and implementation of the plan for the property
  • Acts as a liaison for representing the property needs within the Destination Marketing strategy, in cooperation with Field Marketing and Vail Marketing
  • Partners with internal and external parties to coordinate all marketing efforts and perform the duties required to initiate, run, and conclude long- and short-term projects and tasks. Responds to inquiries/requests from internal and external parties and conducts follow-up
  • Delivers completed assignments and projects on time through strong project management, ensuring accuracy and quality requirements are met
  • Conducts extended administrative functions for the property as required, including budget management
  • Communicates with marketing leader on project progress; discusses challenges and opportunities; proactively seeks out and accepts guidance and support

 

DUTIES:

  • Leads and implements strategic messaging plans, including print and online advertising, photography ,collateral production and the creation of goal-driven content in accordance with the property creative guidelines
  • Manages logistics, implements and traffics all marketing campaigns for the property, including promotions, emails, paid media, traditional media and other marketing efforts
  • Utilizes Content Management Systems (CMS) to update the property websites, including content audits with frequent updates of web specials, photography and verbiage maximizing SEM/SEO best practices
  • Works with revenue team and field marketing team to ensure that all 3rd party channels have correct content and explore marketing opportunities to drive ancillary revenue
  • Proactively gathers assets from multiple internal and external stakeholders and ensure that all necessary communication and functions are in place for each program or initiative
  • Composes and distributes detailed hospitality marketing reports on a weekly basis
  • Additional assignments and responsibilities as required

 

EDUCATION

  • Four-year college degree required; emphasis in marketing, business and/or communications preferred

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of hospitality/lodging/marketing experience. Third-party partnership experience. 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office Suite

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Able to speak, read and write English fluently; strong oral and written skills required

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong understanding of the various areas of marketing and familiarity with common marketing
  • practices and principles, including paid media and email campaigns
  • Skilled communicator with good verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently under
  • minimal to moderate supervision
  • Comfortable working independently, but able to function effectively as part of a team
  • Flexible, versatile and a fast learner, capable of adapting in a fluid environment
  • Comfortable working with internal and external clients, executives, media, partners, vendors and
  • associates at all levels
  • Present a well-groomed appearance and professional manner
  • Able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies
  • and procedures

 

PREFERED SKILLS

  • Extensive Hospitality experience
  • Digital marketing experience
