This is a summer position. Our season typically runs from May through early October. Candidates must be available to work until the end of the season. 


The Grounds Foreman is responsible for for the implementation of all activities relating to the grooming of golf course fairways, primary and secondary rough, sand bunkers and mounds, tee complexes, water hazard edges and any areas which require specialized trimming. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the grooming of golf course fairways, rough, sand bunkers, greens, other golf course related activities and assisting with and training new hires according to our standards.  This position is expected to work in a safe and precise manner while maintaining the golf course.  The grounds foreman works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of the golf course. Our operating season is typically from early- May through mid-October. Discounted housing provided.


Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists year-round managers in management and training of seasonal staff.
  • Fills in as admin for department when needed.
  • Maintains all golf course grounds with great attention to detail and assists in work inspections.
  • Maintains sand bunkers daily in accordance with training and expectations of management.
  • Operate mowers, string trimmers and hand tools in the daily maintenance of greens, aprons, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; bunker edges, rakes maintains sand bunkers.
  • Maintains, removes weeds and cares for clubhouse grounds and landscaping in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Sets tee markers, and maintains ball washers; replaces tee towels and flags when needed; removes debris from greens, tees, cart paths with use of blower or sweeper; sands and seeds tee and drop area divots.
  • Assists with all opening and closing procedures of the golf course.  Including, but not limited to, removal of leaves, aerification cores, tree maintenance, installation and removal of deer barrier and bunker maintenance.
  • Operate mowers other light and heavy equipment
  • Interacts with guests, both internal and external, in a manner that will provide the “Experience of a Lifetime” and in accordance with company standards.


The “must haves” for this position include:

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in all aspects of golf course maintenance, landscaping, or agriculture.
  • Working knowledge of reel mowing and rotary mowing equipment; their proper adjustment and maintenance.
  • Must have current valid driver’s license and successful MVR completion
  • 1 year previous experience supervising the maintenance of golf courses.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.


We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • 2-4 year degree in turfgrass management or related field of study.
