The Assistant General Manager of Flagg Ranch is responsible for supporting the directives of the General Manager and maintaining smooth operation of the property in the General Manager’s absence.  Primary focus is insuring that all areas of the resort are meeting and/or exceeding the guests’ expectations.  Indirect supervision of winter Flagg Ranch Company (FRC) team members.  Direct supervision of a portion of summer department team members.  Assist with coordination of Capital project work and other projects as assigned by General Manager.


Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists Flagg Ranch Company General Manager in providing leadership for the operation to include training of department heads.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager and Human Resources responsible for coaching, counseling and disciplining employees.
  • Attentively and politely respond to all guest concerns or complaints and follow up to insure the guest has received a satisfactory resolution.
  • Respond to all emergency situations at the property and take charge of the situation in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Must be able to fill in as manager of all departments.
  • Schedules and holds communication meetings with departments.
  • Supports training as required by Human Resources and the EH&S office.  Implements and trains employees as specified in job description attachments (i.e. Standard Operating Procedures – SOP) to include ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSA 18001.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.


The “must haves” for this position include:

  • 1-3 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry
  • Previous supervisory experience in the Rooms Department
  • Professional knowledge of Food and Beverage operations
  • Understanding of budgets and cost controls
  • Familiar with POS and PMS hospitality operating systems
  • Must have a valid drivers' license and successful MVR completion


We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Knowledge of Grand Teton National Park
  • Knowledge of Vail Resort's management systems (V1, PeopleSoft Time & Labor)
