Stowe Mountain Resort is currently seeking a dependable, self-motivated Custodial Night Lead this winter season to be part of our Base Operations team maintaining our facilities around the resort.  The ideal candidate will possess a professional, customer focused attitude and work well independently and with others.  The Night Lead - supervises, participates with, and audits the night custodial staff’s outcomes with the goal of achieving departmental standards in areas of responsibilities.  Schedule is 2nd shift, and applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.  We are looking for enthusiastic team players to join us in providing our guests with an Experience of a Lifetime.

 

Qualifications:

  • Basic education with job related experience.  
  • Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to follow-up.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with guests, staff, management, and other departments.
  • Must possess proven ability to supervise, delegate, audit, direct, and motivate subordinates.
  • Must possess ability to perform physical activities which include reaching, standing, walking, lifting and repetitive motions.
  • Must possess basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs - required
  • Must possess valid Vermont driver’s license.
  • Willing and able to work weekend shifts and holidays when scheduled - required
  • Supervisory experience - preferred

 

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Communicate with day shift operations to give and receive pertinent information. 
  • Beginning of each shift set the tone; communicate expectations and delegate tasks and staff to achieve workload results. 
  • Communicate with Supervisor to ensure seamless workload results.
  • Responsible for keeping Resort Facilities clean during non-operative hours.
  • Responsible for supervising staff to achieve custodial tasks. 
  • Understand the “standards” of all job tasks, and then coach staff to excel.
  • Ensure the Custodial Department presents a positive public image of Stowe Mountain Resort through work performed and positive interactions with our guests.
  • Ensure thorough, consistent training of staff members.
  • Provide quality work then audit outcomes to accepted “standards”.     
  • Lead by example. Set proper appearance and conduct standards for custodial staff.
  • Control inventory of custodial supplies by maintaining inventory records.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good operating condition.
  • Ensure safe workplace environment.
