The Stowe Mountain Resort Operations Department is actively accepting applications for a Building Maintenance Technician (Carpenter) to provide repairs upkeep and preventative maintenance as requested across the various departments at the resort.  As an integral member of the maintenance team, you must have the ability to make competent decisions while thinking of the customers and resorts interest at all times, using skill-based knowledge to perform assigned tasks in a professional manner with focus on efficiency and quality of work.  People skills planning, execution, control, communication are essential in completing tasks efficiency and keeping the department informed on work status.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the integrity of the resort assets are maintained.
  • Abide by all safety rules and regulations from corporate, State and Federal.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs for rooms, public areas and equipment.
  • Coordinate projects with sub-contractors when required.
  • Order and maintain stock for critical equipment for assigned areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures and alert supervisor to any unsafe conditions that may exist.
  • Work with other departments and area managers as required.
  • Keep hand tools in a safe functional manner at all times.
  • Maintain job logs updated daily.
  • Assist in the training of entry-level techs.
  • Repair and replace parts, in carpentry dry wall application, painting and other repair and maintenance duties.
  • Good knowledge in appliance installation, general mechanics, carpentry and troubleshooting.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements of work methods, safety and materials use.
  • Knowledgeable on Lock out tag out procedure, OSHA, EPA and MSDS.
  • Planning, organizing and controlling are key attributes.
  • Attend training classes for job specific skills.
  • Maintain good attitude and people skills even during high-pressure situations, be a good leader.
  • Other duties as assigned related to function.


Job Requirements:

  • 2-3 year trade school or experienced in carpentry.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Clean driver’s license required
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Good administrative and leadership skills.
  • Understand and read plan drawings.
  • Ability to get things done.
