The Stevens Pass Mountain Ops team is searching for a veteran Lift Operator to assist with managing the Lift Ops department this 20/21 winter season!


Job Summary:

As the Lift Operations Day Supervisor you will be responsible for leading the day shift team. You will teach new employees how to be Lift Operators and to provide quality customer service to fulfill our mission of delivering an experience of a lifetime for every guest.


Stevens Pass premier geographic location at the crest of the Cascades grants us cooler and drier snow than other areas in the state with an average of 460” of snowfall each year! We have the best of everything here: Open from 9am until 10pm, with 6 lifts spinning at night, terrain parks, steep and jagged ridges, vast tree skiing and excellent backcountry access. Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the manager with hiring, onboarding, pre-season training and staff scheduling
  • Procurement of supplies and budgeting labor costs
  • Check-in the staff, Deliver safety meetings and assign Operators to their stations.
  • Supervise the team’s opening procedures, communication with Dispatch, maintenance checks and daily lift logs.
  • Teach new hires how to safely use a variety of tools to sweep seats, shovel snow and rake ramps.
  • Supervise the Leads set up of mazes, fences, perimeters and signs.
  • Ensure Section Chiefs are tracking dispatch clearances and their teams are using designated routes to ski/ride to remote areas of the mountain.
  • Work with groomers to grade snow surfaces around lift terminals.
  • Recognize issues on the hill and at lift stations and make necessary corrections and delegations.
  • Ensure work breaks are being given on time to lift personnel in assigned zone.
  • Assist Lift Maintenance and Ski Patrol emergency lift evacuations as needed.
  • Assist the Manager with coaching, discipline and performance reviews.
  •  Input time sheets into payroll software. Monitor dept. labor.
  • Participate in leadership development classes and foster learning opportunities for the Leads.



  • Ability to meet qualifications and perform all responsibilities of a Lift Operations Specialist.
  • Must be able to ski/snowboard at an advanced level.
  • Minimum 3 years of lift operations experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record for snowmobile operation.
  • Supervisory skills and innate leadership traits.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
