Mountain Activities Maintenance Team


As a member of the Mountain Activities Maintenance Team your role is to perform all maintenance and repair procedures on activities related equipment such as the Alpine Coaster, Zip Lines, Alpine Slide and other amazing activities at Park City Mountain. The Alpine Coaster is an elevated roller coaster track where our guests race down the mountain reaching speeds up to 25mph.  The Alpine Slide is an over 3,000 feet long thrill ride down the mountain filled with dips and banked turns. Our other activities include family friendly experiences such as the Bungee Trampolines, Climbing Wall, Mini Golf, Kid’s Tubing, and Kid’s Ropes Course.  The Mountain Activities Maintenance staff member  will need to be highly self-motivated and will work closely with the Maintenance Team Lead, Mountain Activities leadership team and Activities staff to provide timely maintenance service with an emphasis on:  safety, guest service, and efficient operation of all Activities.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform, document and help to ensure compliance with daily and periodic inspections to meet all applicable  regulations
  • Assist in construction of new activities and help to lead pre-season set up and post-season tear down and storage of activities
  • Daily grounds keeping in summer and snow removal in winter
  • Daily upkeep of associated facilities and equipment
  • Proactively communicate maintenance needs to ensure timely ordering of parts and equipment
  • Engage with guests and staff while exhibiting Vail Resorts Core Values  
  • Assist with operation of activities as needed
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License & Satisfactory Driving Record (in accordance with VR Drivers Policy)
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work outside in varying weather conditions


 Preferred Experience:

  • Zip Line, Mountain Coaster, and other operational experience relevant to activities at Park City
  • Experience with technical/mechanical aspects of Coasters, Zip Lines, and other activities at Park City
  • Experience working with equipment such as skid steer and forklifts.
  • Mechanical background and aptitude
  • Comfortable with working at height up to 160ft


Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication skills: communicates in a positive, solution oriented way to proactively address maintenance and operational needs
  • Teamwork: able to work effectively with activities leadership and other department staff to plan, schedule, and complete maintenance tasks on time (lift maintenance, lift operations, base operations)
  • Organizational skills: able to organize and accomplish a wide variety of tasks and prioritize daily work to maximize productivity and efficient maintenance of all activities
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a highly dynamic work environment
  • Self-motivated with an eye for detail in the work area
  • Able to use a variety of tools ranging from basic hand tools to technically advanced and specialty equipment  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
