Summary of Job:


The Sales Manager is responsible for the overall achievement of their  group room nights and revenue budget, in addition to achieving the sales team lines of business goals and working on a regional team to develop sales strategies to ensure the regional team achieves revenue and room nights goals, which roll-up to our total Vail Resorts Meetings & Events dashboard.   


Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensure pull-through of group strategies in order for the resort to  attain and grow group revenue objectives as well as overall Okemo Mountain Resort fiscal year initiatives.
  • Accountability for achieving group room night and revenue goals as well as individual booking pace goals.
  • Strong focus on  prospecting for new business and tracking new accounts.
  • Ensure focus is on strategic proactive selling and penetrating new accounts to maximize group room revenues.
  • Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sales and Director of Sales, serve as a group sales liaison with key departments such as Revenue Management, Conference Services, National Sales, Strategic Alliance, Mountain Operations, Vail Resorts Retail and other internal customers as appropriate.
  •  Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Sales and Director of Sales to provide career development, while remaining the top producer of group on the sales team.
  • Create a personal SMART plan to ensure the success of revenue, room night and lines of business goals.
  • Travel as needed and represent the resort at tradeshows, in market sales calls, familiarization trips, enterprise wide sales trainings and events.
  • Be proficient in Windows software programs as well as Delphi.FDC.
  • Prior hospitality/resort sales experience is a must.


Job Requirements:


  • College degree business administration, hotel management, or related discipline preferred. Successful hospitality or sales careers can enhance this.
  • 5 years hospitality/resort sales experience, 7 years experience in hotel or service industry
  • Microsoft Office to include Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Delphi.FDC, and mobile devices
  • English language skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Professional and strong time management skills
  • Budgeting and business planning.
