The Special Programs Coordinator will supervise front line operations of the Northstar Ski and Snowboard School Children’s Programs.  Our goal is to provide every guest an Experience of a Lifetime – the foundation of this comes from an environment that is both fun and safe for all employees and guests of the Ski and Snowboard School.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between Children’s Ski and Snowboard School and outside organizations including SOS Outreach, Boys & Girls Club, ARC, and school groups.
  • Work with Ski and Snowboard School supervisors to staff instructors on special programs lessons.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments, including rentals, product sales, group sales and events.
  • Look for opportunities to enhance the experience of special program guests.
  • Look for opportunities to grow the special programs business, particular during mid-week and other slower business volume days.
  • Work with Ski and Snowboard School management to align special programs goals with larger department and company goals.
  • On days when special programs products are being delivered, perform supervisory responsibilities including: lead morning meetings, organize class assignments, observe lessons, and signing out instructors.
  • Perform all guest recovery needs related to special programs.
  • Mentoring, observations,  coaching, feedback, and evaluations of assigned “family” of approximately 40 instructors
  • Assign daily tasks and make all lesson assignments for instructors scheduled to your work area each day.  Run daily staff meetings at lineup.
  • Interface with parents to explain programs, services, policies, schedules and rates.
  • Manage unusual issues, requests or complaints.
  • Administer appropriate record keeping and reporting systems.
  • Maintain positive public relations with parents, visitors and the general public at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills through email, phone, and face-to-face
  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years Ski and Ride School experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft office skills
  • Works well with guests of all ages / Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

  • At least 1 years sales experience
  • At least 1 years RPOS experience
  • PSIA/AASI Level 1 certification or equivalent preferred
