Job Summary:  

Coaches provide quality ski instruction to Team athletes in a safe and fun manner while upholding all Colorado and California Skier Safety Act rules/regulations and Company guidelines.  Part Time and full time  positions for PSIA/AASI/USSA/FIS certified instructors/coaches are available.

Positions available:

 Development All Mountain Ski Program. Certified coaches for our Sunday (10 day) Weekend (24 day) and Part Time (45 day) programs. 

                      Development Ski Teams - Introduction to the Ski and Snowboard Team with a focus on all mountain exploration (Non-Competitive)

Alpine Race Coaches. Full and Part time postions open for Certified coaches with expereince

                      Alpine Race Program U10 - FIS U19

Mogul and Freeski Coach Part Time weekend and holiday positions for certified coaches with experience

Northstar Ski and Snowboard Team is an in-house team, with support from the Northstar Team Foundation. 

Together we support coaches and Team families.  As a growing program, we  have  tremendous growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Upholding the highest levels of athlete safety on varied terrain in high altitude, with varying winter weather conditions.
• Clearly and accurately coaching  skiing domains to athletes.
• Ensuring that athletes are matched to appropriate skier skill level and working with Head Coach to make appropriate changes when necessary. 
• Communicating instructions and devlivering a season long progression of skills
• Supervising athletes at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of group to identified guardian.

• Requirements:
• High School or Equivalent Education
• Attend All Mountain Training
• PSIA/AASI/USSA/FIS Level 1, 2 or 3 certification and/or USSA coaching
• Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
• Must have excellent guest service skills
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must work well in a team
• Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
• Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions
• Must commit to the days that the program is in session
• Must be able to lift, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently.

  Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with guests of all ages
• Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring
