Job Summary:

Northstar California is currently seeking a Golf Course Equipment Mechanic for our Golf Course. This person will work as part of the golf course/turf team and, under general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, will perform repair and preventative maintenance on all turf equipment. This includes diagnosis, rebuilding, repair of gas and diesel engines. Duties also include sharpening of reels and overseeing golf car fleet maintenance.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

• Professional Mechanic with 3-5 years of experience.
• Trained and experienced (or willing to learn) in all phases of turf equipment diagnoses and repair.
• Ordering of parts using on-line ordering system. Staying within budgetary guidelines and prioritizing expenditures.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and physically able to perform all mechanic-related tasks.
• Basic computer knowledge, recordkeeping of all equipment maintenance.
• Must be team player, willing to train and direct staff in proper safe operation of all turf equipment.
• Willingness to assist the Golf Superintendent in any and all golf maintenance tasks
• Valid US Driver’s License and clean DMV record

Preferred:

• Supervisory experience
• Welding/fabricating and use of Foley grinder
• Knowledge of cold climate turf grass maintenance
