The Private Lesson Sales Assistant Manager manages our reservations, sales, and fulfillment of Northstar’s premier Private Ski & Board School.  

 

This small and tight-knit department works closely as a team to help create the Experience of a Lifetime for our guests.  As the Private Lesson Sales Assistant Manager, you will manage the team responsible for booking private lessons through our call center and being the face of our Northstar Village Private lesson office.  Additionally, you may be asked to assist across all product sales departments. We are looking for guest service-oriented individuals who are positive, outgoing, operate with a high level of computer proficiency, have a passion for the outdoors, are well disciplined, and take pride in their work.

  

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Day to Day operations for Northstar Private Lesson Office and Call Center.
  • Create and maintain a positive team atmosphere amongst the private lesson employees
  • Ensure that the Private lesson team embraces our core values and creates an experience of a lifetime for our guests.
  • Accurately and efficiently process lift access products and private lessons
  • Comfortable with requesting guest information and data required to complete transactions
  • Ability to learn, understand and effectively communicate with the guest about multiple product types and quickly adapt to changing pricing and product offerings
  • Make suitable recommendations on products to meet the guests’ needs and the business objectives
  • Ability to handle a high volume of customer interaction while delivering exceptional service; internal & external
  • Create a fun and professional work experience while communicating in a courteous and respectful manner
  • Professionally assist and follow through with resolution of guest complaints; handle concerns and suggestions
  • Perform daily sales and closing and be held responsible for the end of day point of sale audit
  • Work on a computer with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Must be able to interact with and engage the guest while working on a computer at the same time
  • Follow company/department policies and procedures
  • Participate in resort and departmental training and development courses
  • Willing to cross-train and work in all areas/locations of Product Sales Services
  • Take the initiative to perform duties that facilitate operations and maintain the cleanliness of your work area while paying attention to detail
  • Promote and embrace Vail Resort’s Mission and Values; provide a safe work environment; implement Vail Resort’s mountain service essentials, strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and POS software
  • Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English
  • Typing skills with an emphasis on data collection
  • Ability to answer questions and speak intelligently about all resort products
  • Fun, outgoing personality traits
  • Take timeliness and deliverable tasks seriously
  • Ability to develop a quick rapport with high-end clientele
  • Ability to stay calm in complicated and stressful situations
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a work permit

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with (resort) POS software
  • Experienced and conversational in a foreign language
  • Previous guest service experience
  • College Degree
