Job Summary:
This role combines the oversight of the Kirkwood Ski & Ride School Children’s Center programming with administrative duties pertinent to the Ski and Ride School operations. The successful management of these two areas is integral to the success of this business as well as the guest and staff experience. This leadership role will work directly with the Ski and Ride Management team, Children’s and Adult Supervisors, and Lead Instructors as well as frontline ski and ride instructors. Duties will include (but are not limited to) staffing the Children’s Center team, scheduling attendants and/or instructors based on business volume, developing and conducting inside staff training, conducting performance evaluations, delegation of tasks, weekly food and supply ordering, weekly menu preparation, maintaining facility cleanliness standards, instructor payroll coordination and auditing, and other miscellaneous administrative tasks such as (but not limited to) instructor scheduling support, running Instructor Priority reports, running payroll reports, and assisting with staff events.
In regards to the Children’s Center specifically, this role will be responsible for the supervision of our guests while they are inside the Children’s Center facility, ensuring timely preparation of snacks and lunches, strict attention to all guest allergy and accommodation requests, appropriate programming of indoor activities related to Ski and Ride School goals, and professional communication with parents/guardians as necessary. Positive, thorough and clear communication with Ski and Ride School Management, Supervisors, and Leads is critical.
In regards to the additional Administrative duties, this role requires a strong understanding of the RPOS (instructor payroll system) so as to oversee, carry out, and delegate the daily input of instructor payroll; conduct payroll audits which compare and match payroll entries to instructor time card submissions through the last Friday of each pay period; Accurate reporting of Instructor Priority each pay period; Willingness to assist with additional administrative tasks such as (but not limited to) assisting with instructor scheduling, contacting instructors who have submitted inaccurate time cards, contacting payroll and/or IT for support, opening Direct Connect Cases, lost and found etc.

Job Responsibilities:
- Keeping yourself, your staff and your guests SAFE at all times and in all situations.
- Providing exceptional guest service at all times while sharing your passion for working with kids.
- Oversee and train staff in the operational responsibilities of Ski & Ride School indoor programming, including but not limited to:
- Planning and implementation of registration process and directing guests to appropriate locations. Accurately assisting guests and staff with procedures and processes while organizing children.
- Oversight of indoor and outdoor teaching areas and cleanliness of facilities including adequate cleaning schedule of kitchen, bathrooms, main children’s room and mini-ripper room to maintain operations within Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines.
- Oversight of 3 & 4 year old programming. Support Supervisors & Instructors with the coordination and facilitation of the 3 & 4 yr. old program (mini rippers/mini groms) including but not limited to check-in/check-out procedures; equipment fitting and assignment; off snow and on snow instruction; snack and meal prep.
- Oversight of Ski and Ride School recycling and waste sorting system within the Children’s Center facility.
- Run daily allergy report and ensure students are fed the appropriate foods based on their specific dietary needs and restrictions. Food prep for guest snacks & lunches.
- Assist children who are tired, feel ill, or are unwilling to participate in lessons.
- Contact and communicate with guardian(s) regarding the status of their child in a professional manner.
- Ensure that guests are equipped appropriately (fitting and adjusting equipment) and working with instructors/supervisors and managers to make changes when necessary.
- Supervision of children both outside during lessons and inside the children's center.
- Child security and the return of children to identified guardian(s).
- Display and utilize positive and effective communication with other management, inside staff, instructors and guests; Ability to work cooperatively with staff and other departments to ensure safety, security and enjoyment of our guests.

Job Requirements:
- High School or Equivalent Education.
- Ability to attend all required training sessions.
- Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written).
- CA food handler certificate (may be obtained after accepting the position).
- Rental tech certificate??
- Must have excellent guest service skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must work well in a team.
- Must successfully complete a Criminal Background Check.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment.
- Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions.
- Must be willing to assist children.
- Must be available to work holidays and weekends.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous Supervisory experience, managing and oversight of a team.
- Experience working in a guest service industry with guests of all ages.
- Previous kitchen/food prep experience.
- Knowledge of local area/resort.
- Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring children and/or childcare.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish (optional)

The expected pay range is $23.00 - $24.26. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
