Vail Resorts, Inc. is the premier mountain resort company in the world and a leader in luxury, destination-based travel at iconic locations.  The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing reports to the Director of Procurement and is responsible for driving value and leading innovation within the F&B/Hospitality procurement department.  This leader will achieve business results across our resorts and segments, inject innovation and thought leadership into a broad set of procurement activities, and develop procurement team members. Working with this leader will be one direct report. Specific responsibilities include:

 

Out Front: Serve as a thought leader aligning Vail Resorts sourcing objectives and strategies with overall business objectives.

Drive: Focus on results. Lead strategic thinking in critical areas of food and beverage, hospitality operations, and strategic supplier management.

Re-Imagine: Join the team that is create a vision and long term roadmap for Vail Resorts Procurement. Take well-reasoned and prudent risks.

Specific Duties:

  • Identify and leverage opportunities and directly negotiate programs to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership across category and/or product line.
  • Develop and execute category strategies related to Food & Beverage and/or Hospitality.
  • Build and communicate category intelligence throughout the company.
  • Perform spend analysis and develop a sourcing roadmap focused on cost savings, process improvement and supplier management.
  • Implement supplier performance strategies that ensure ongoing cost improvements, on time delivery, quality and service and Procurement value.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other business units to identify and implement savings initiatives.

Credentials we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent (prefer Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree)
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain / Procurement
  • At least 7 years of Purchasing experience
  • APP/CPM/CPSM preferred
  • Experience sourcing and developing relationships with outside suppliers
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Demonstrated success at increasing team and employee engagement
