Summary of Job:


Vail Resorts seeks an experienced and versatile research analyst to join our Guest Insights team near Denver, CO.   


The Marketing Insights Senior Analyst will play a key role in driving strategic decision making by integrating a complete understanding of primary and secondary research techniques, marketing insights, and an understanding of the broader business context. This individual is responsible for proposing research designs, writing questionnaires/discussion guides, analyzing data, preparing reports, and presenting strategic findings to the larger marketing and corporate business. 


Job Responsibilities:


  • Act as research lead for key departments focused on providing strategic insight, forming a trusted relationship, and staying ahead of upcoming business decisions.
  • Consult with internal clients and recommend research designs that address their strategic needs and align with business objectives.
  • The candidate will possess demonstrated experience in research execution and management: defining research need and methodology, managing projects, analyzing research and communicating results. 
  • This position requires the knowledge, and daily use of, marketing research best practices, oversight for data integrity, extraction and integration of data from various collection points to prepare datasets for reporting/analysis. 
  • Create primary research instruments including survey questionnaires and focus group discussion guides and work with clients on the review and approval process.
  • Analyze data, write research reports, and deliver oral presentations of research findings and actionable conclusions.
  • Intermediate to advance experience with Qualtrics, SPSS, Tableau, Sawtooth, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
  • Manage relationships and projects with outside research suppliers and related vendors.
  • Train and develop other team members to increase the overall impact of our team.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, Statistics, or other quantitative field required
  • Minimum of six years of experience across a broad range of research categories and models
  • Research specialist experienced in all facets of quantitative and qualitative research (e.g., sample design, survey design, budget management)
  • Experience in customer surveys, research, and analysis, as well as measurement principles in consumer research
  • Results-focused approach and willingness to go the extra mile for stakeholders
  • Ability to be flexible and precise under aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to analyze data and extract the most salient points that provide important audience or market insights
  • Capable of and confident in giving presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proven analytical and deductive reasoning skills; able to translate findings into meaningful strategies
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize projects, while working independently
  • A consummate team player who brings a passionate, positive, high-energy approach to client service and delivering results
  • Critical thinker who is constantly looking for ways to evolve the capabilities of the team
  • Excellent use of personal computers and software typically used in market research including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Extensive experience with SPSS and advanced statistical knowledge
  • Experience with Qualtrics is preferred
  • Experience with Tableau is preferred
