Job Title:  Principal Developer, Data Warehouse/BI

This position will be a part of our growing team focused on the data warehouse, BI, and analytics capabilities.  A successful candidate will play a crucial part in architecting solutions to meet a growing demand from our complex customer base within Marketing Analytics, CRM, Hospitality and Finance.  Responsibilities include complete solutions architecture including data modeling, ETL design and development, documentation, and playing a key role in the development of other team members.  Attention to detail and a passion for leveraging data as a competitive advantage are a must.


Job Responsibilities

  • Works directly with Sr. Manager, BI Development to design and implement tactical solutions to meet strategic business initiatives.
  • Partners with the database administration, infrastructure, and security teams to develop architectures allowing for scalability and performance of the EDW platform.
  • Responsible for creation of complex data sets within an Enterprise Data Warehouse to meet growing customer demand.
  • Willingness to work across multiple teams in an open and collaborative way to design holistic solutions, solving business problems.
  • The ability to create complex data models – logical and physical - that meet demanding business requirements is a key responsibility. 
  • Responsible for translating functional requirements into technical requirements and solutions.
  • This position will have a responsibility to mentor other team members, helping them grow their technical skill set and advance their professional aptitude.
  • Perform relevant training and support for internal users in IT and the business.
  • Execute and document Quality Assurance processes by developing use cases, test plans and test scripts, coordinating testing activities, documenting results, and driving issue resolution throughout the testing process.
  • Other duties as assigned. 



  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering or a related field – specialization in Business Intelligence or Analytics preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a complex ETL or Data Warehousing Environment
  • Experience in a highly complex transactional environment across multiple lines of business preferred
  • 3 or more years data modeling within an EDW environment
  • Experience translating complex functional requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft database technologies, including MS SQL Server 2012/2008 – SQL Server 2016 a plus
  • 7 or more years experience with SQL Server Integration Services, or related ETL tools
  • Extensive knowledge of star schema data warehousing concepts and methodologies
  • Ability to tune complex SQL queries for maximum performance
  • Intimate understanding of cube development – multidimensional and tabular
  • Skilled in writing SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures; leveraging transactional databases, relational data marts and data warehouses
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and participate in a complex portfolio of projects
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills
