Internal Auditors are key team members of the Internal Audit department and have a direct impact on its success.  They are team members on internal assurance and advisory projects, SOX testing and testing done as direct support to the external auditors for all operations of Vail Resorts. They may also assist in fraud investigations and contribute to IA department initiatives. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Internal Audit Project Delivery
    • Participates in assurance and advisory projects through evaluation of evidence and completion of project deliverables
    • Accountable for managing own time to perform tasks and documents audit steps performed, conclusions, and results
    • Proactively works to develop solutions through collaboration
    • Receives moderate level of guidance and direction, seeking consultation if unclear

    • Listens, is inquisitive and responds timely to client and manager requests
    • Takes pride in work, ensuring it is high quality and is complete prior to supervisor review

    • Performs and documents process walkthroughs, control design assessments, and testing the operating effectiveness of controls

    • Nurtures and builds positive relationships within IA team and other stakeholders
    • Demonstrates creativity in projects and IA department initiatives (Re-Imagines)

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

  • Two (2) years of auditing, accounting, or related analytical business experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a related business field with significant quantitative and analytical content
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analytic software a plus
  • Certification in relevant field (CIA, CPA, CFE, CISA, etc) or seeking certification a plus
