Summary of Job:

Drive completion of technology and integration projects related to compiling campaign lists, segmentation methodology, campaign list automation, and VR marketing database management for all corporate marketing email, direct, & outbound marketing initiatives.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Support database marketing and multichannel campaign management efforts (email, DM, mobile) for the season pass, mountain, hospitality and digital brands of Vail Resorts to include campaign list generation, automation,  and ad hoc analysis.
  • Coordinate project activities with IT teams responsible for implementing technology solutions that drive forward the CRM marketing strategy.
  • Serve as a key partner and liaison for brand, division, resort, and corporate marketing teams regarding campaign fulfillment and optimization.
  • Identify opportunities and/or data elements to enhance the Vail Resorts enterprise data warehouse and work closely with the IT and analytics groups on integration and integrity. 
  • Understand complex CRM systems/data and effectively translate this knowledge into solutions that automate processes and increase our ability to dynamically personalize customer and prospect communications.
  • Establish CRM program benchmarks, summarize performance and recommend/implement actions to improve key metrics for all CRM programs.
  • Work very closely with the email marketing team on campaign strategy, optimization and test/control best practices.
  • Develop database marketing campaign segmentation schemes based on customer type, transactional history, behavior and demographics that align with the overall CRM customer life cycle strategies. 
  • Perform ad hoc campaign analysis and database querying as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related degree
  • 3+ years experience in database management, project management, campaign management, direct and/or email marketing.
  • SAS CI Studio (highly preferred), Microsoft Office (including Excel), Microsoft SQL Language/Server, Relational Databases.
  • Experience working with Campaign Management software and/or data-driven marketing tools necessary – Exact Target or Alteryx experience a plus.
  • Strong experience working with marketing databases in a project management capacity , either formally or informally and/or working as a liaison with IT departments on such projects.
  • Strong understanding of B2C Direct Marketing strategy & tactics, preferably in e-mail marketing for a travel, hospitality or ski company
  • Track record of partnering with IT and other marketers to build or improve the capabilities of such data-driven multi-channel marketing tools as mentioned above.
  • Management of cross-functional relationships, especially with IT.
  • Ability to articulate and champion marketing data management best practices.
  • Understands the principles of relational database and data hygiene
  • Holds a philosophy that all projects carry an ability to learn; constantly thinks of testing to become better.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Experience working in a larger corporate marketing technology environment preferred.
  • Understanding of integrating marketing technology into an operations environment.
