Supporting the Tahoe resorts of Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood; the primary responsibility of the Director of Sales is the overall achievement of group room night targets and revenue budgets for all lines of business for groups.  This leadership position will help support and lead the Tahoe group sales and service teams in all aspects of driving group sales activities. This position will work closely with other key stakeholders at each resort,  and will be required to have close communications with the Sr. Director reporting on group trends, key strategies, booking goals and competitive insight.  This position will also be involved with senior management at all 3 resorts at varying degress making sure that the group startegies are aligned and shared.  ***This position can work out Heavenly, Northstar, or Kirkwood.***


Essential Job Responsibilites:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of Tahoe sales managers to grow group account share and drive group business across all revenue divisions for the Tahoe resorts in line with the priorities and overall segment strategies.
  • Set sales targets that are aligned for each line of business and the overall group revenue goals for Tahoe.
  • Under the guidance of the Sr. Director, provides leadership to the group sales team to help them achieve revenue goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance with the budgeting priorities for the Tahoe Sales Team
  • Help to lead employee development including your own leadership development and growth of the Tahoe Sales team.
  • Work closely with the National Sales team to maximize opportunities for Tahoe through the execution of the sales strategy as set by the regional teams and NSO's.
  • Help lead the interaction between various revenue departments and our group sales team at all three Tahoe resorts.
  • Understand each Tahoe resorts primary target group customer to generate better business solutions. Provide customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Strong foucs on leading the team in prospecting for new business and tracking new accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director


Job Requirements:

  • College degree or comparable years in business management or related dicipline preferred.. Successful hospitality or sales careers can enhance this.
  • 5+ years previous hospitality or mountain resort sales experience, 5 years experience in hotel or service industry, experience in budgeting and business planning preferred.
  • Microsoft Office to include Excel, Powerpoint and Word, Delphi (FDC), social media and mobile devices.
  • English and excellent communications skills.
