Job Summary:

CBMR seeks motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the ON-MOUNTAIN Winter Events Crew. Candidates will assist with set up, facilitation and cleanup of on-mountain and base area events and venues including but not limited to ski racing, terrain park competitions, big mountain freeride competitions, concerts, community events, activities and animations, etc.

 

Entry level event crew members will be expected to work 100 hours during the winter season. Work days are dependent on event days and usually fall between Wednesdays and Sundays in February and March, with mandatory training held at the beginning of the season.

 

Event crew members should come prepared to help with any task and provide superior guest service to every athlete, spectator, coach, official, vendor, and internal guests.

 

Events may require skiing or riding with your own equipment, hiking, riding a snowmobile (not driving), and working long hours outside in winter conditions. Must be able to competently ski or snowboard while carrying up to 50 lbs. and through ungroomed/off-piste terrain.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for race facilitation including tasks related to timing, course maintenance, and registration.
  • Assist with set up and take down of event fencing and related equipment needs.
  • Acts as a guest service representative for the resort by answering guest questions with clear communications.
  • Must possess ability to work independently to complete individual tasks as well as function as a contributing member of the team.
  • Maintain efficient radio communications.
  • Must understand the differences in each type of competition and be able to help answer guest questions.  
  • Must be able to navigate the resort efficiently and safely under adverse conditions such as low light and harsh weather, while carrying various types of equipment.
  • Responsible for proper use, care and maintenance of race and event equipment and mechanisms including but not limited to timers, gates, fencing, drills, shovels, rakes, audio/visual, etc.
  • Maintain safety of guests and employees through appropriate set up of event venue protection and equipment.  
  • Sell lift tickets and assist with registration check in process and athlete meetings as necessary.
  • Assist with event venue security for concerts. Responsible for reporting any potential issues to supervisor or lead immediately.

 

Qualifications:

  • Expert Skiing and/or Snowboarding Experience Required (Must use skis for alpine ski races)
  • Previous Resort Experience - Preferred
  • Experience with Competition Events;  Racing/ Freeride Experience- Preferred
  • Flexibility in Scheduling- Weekend Work Required
  • Computer Knowledge – Required
  • Must be able to work outside in adverse winter weather conditions
