Job Summary:

The Vail Resorts Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value. We have created a new fully centralized Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in our Broomfield, Colorado corporate headquarters, which supports a fast growing publicly traded company (NYSE: MTN) of 37 best-in-class mountain resorts and regional ski areas across the U.S., Canada and Australia. Our team exists to deliver data-driven insights to support the financial management of Vail Resorts – the leading ski resort operator in the world, generating over $2 billion in revenue and $800 million in EBITDA annually.

 

The Sr. Financial Systems Analyst, Technology and Governance will operate within a Finance Process Optimization (FPO) team that oversees all tools, reporting, data governance and process management in support of the centralized FP&A organization. The FPO team allows the greater FP&A organization to be more efficient, accurate, and scalable. This role will help the FP&A organization drive results while developing key insights focused around the most critical enterprise wide trends impacting the business. A primary focus of this role will be to drive improvements to optimize our FP&A efforts including being a solutions architect providing thought leadership in designing optimal solutions via the Planful platform.

 

As finance organizations increasingly rely on cloud-hosted database software, software specific experience and the general skill set to architect scalable FP&A solutions are increasingly in demand and will be for the foreseeable future. This position is a great fit for an individual looking to embrace this trend, who already possess a strong base of corporate finance experience, and who excels with designing and absorbing existing driver-based planning models. A successful candidate will be someone who has a demonstrated history of process improvement and curiosity by applying new technologies or methodologies to improve or reimagine current processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of a centralized best-in-class Planning solution.
  • Support execution of:
    • All planning and reporting processes necessary for the enterprise
    • All financial reporting leveraged to drive insight by the FP&A teams
  • Learn the Planful technology as used in Vail Resorts at a proficient level to be able to provide new ideas, challenge the status quo and help make our team best in class
  • This is a hands on role that requires understanding of multi-dimensional database architecture and meticulous attention to detail combined with a passion for process improvement through continuous learning and experimentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Outstanding academic credentials; Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in finance, accounting, business operations, consulting, or related environment with success in financial modeling and analysis
  • Advanced Excel
  • Experience executing core FP&A processes, including annual budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with Enterprise Planning Software preferred (i.e., reporting and planning tools like Planful/Host Analytics, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Essbase, etc.)

 

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $74,100 - $96,465 + annual bonus.  Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
