Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Product Owner/Business Analysis practice as part of our exciting, demanding, and growing Marketing Technology IT Team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team of analysts instrumental in delivering strategic projects and support within Vail Resorts.  This manager is excited by new challenges and a rapid pace. They are driven, curious, open, collaborative, honest, organized, excellent at managing risk, and diligent in prioritizing work. 

Superior leadership qualities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and SAFe agile SDLC delivery aptitude are a requirement for this important technology leadership role. This position works closely with other application and development managers in a highly collaborative environment and reports to the Director of Enterprise Data Egningeering & Enablement (EDEE) & Marketing Applications Program Management.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide servant-leadership, direction, collaboration, and mentoring to a team of Product Owners; Empower the team to drive the day-to-day delivery and execute their designated application roadmaps
  • Support the team as they gather requirements, inform design and development, and document new system capabilities and enhancements. 
  • Work to transition the BA discipline into a consultative PO discipline within an agile framework that complements Vail Resorts’ technology ecosystem. Coach & support the team on how to apply industry best practices to improve the team's overall work product. 
  • Work closely with Analysts to ensure proper requirements are identified, effective user stories are created, and work is planned in a logical and efficient manner to deliver solutions that support changing business requirements. 
  • Collaborate with the team to identify professional development opportunities for all direct reports and support their pursuit of career growth. Create goals, deliver performance reviews, hold regular 1:1 sessions with direct reports, and provide candid feedback as needed. 
  • Commit to developing and maintaining a high-performing, motivated, connected and engaged team. 
  • Participate in software assessments and provide support and guidance to analysts participating in as assessment efforts. 
  • Connect to build strong relationships with business partners, IT partners, and stakeholders to ensure, cooperation, alignment and proper prioritization. 
  • Responsible for the execution of all compliance requirements (SOX/PCI), ensuring all are adhered to and met. 
  • Manage resource allocation of analysts across teams 
  • Manage contracts, PO’s, invoices, and timekeeping for all team members   
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Job Requirements:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related fields
  • 5+ years working in agile custom software delivery in a BA or Manager capacity 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively manage, mentor, and grow direct reports with a history of increasing responsibility and career growth
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and function as a self-starter requiring little direction; We are looking for someone who shows the potential to do more and is a natural leader 
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • Ability to communicate with various levels (including Director and VP) within IT and with business partners 
  • Excellent customer service skills with a demonstrated customer-focused, service-first attitude 
  • Ability to manage/oversee internal and contract resources 

 

  Preferred:

  • Strong technical aptitude including knowledge of JIRA, Microsoft, Confluence Applications
  • Certified SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager, Certified SAFe® Program Consultant, Certified SAFe® Lean Portfolio Manager
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
  • Demonstration of progressive technical acumen/delivery, and leadership responsibilities throughout career
  • PMI-BA, IIBA, or other accredited Business Analysis coursework is also a plus
  • Experience with Analytics tools – SSAS, SSRS, SAS, Tableau, Alteryx
  • Experience with Cloud Tools and Data platforms – AZURE, Snowflake, AWS
  • Experience with CRMs, CDPs or other Marketing Technology Platforms & Tools
  • Awareness of Adobe Experience Cloud tools – Adobe Campaign Classic, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Audience Manager, Adobe Experience Manager
  • Awareness of Financial Planning Tools – Planful, Anaplan, Prophix, Vena Solutions, etc.
  • Awareness of ERP & Procurement Tools – Oracle PeopleSoft, Coupa, Concur

 

 

The budgeted range starts at $90,000 - $113,000 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
