SUMMARY OF JOB:  

Vail Resorts is looking for a Senior Manager of Learning and Development to join our Talent Development team. The purpose of this role is to design and deliver an innovative learning framework to enhance leadership capability across the Company. The person will design, deliver and oversee learning and development for the organization. In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining strategic learning initiatives to be scaled across the company (both digitally and ILT courses) and the management of the L&D team.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the L&D team to deliver programs and solutions identified through our Talent strategy.
  • Develop and manage strategic approach to leadership programs aligned with overarching organizational development objectives that are tied to the strategic Talent objectives and goals
  • Design leadership development curriculum; deliver content and consistently improve and evolve our programs as we grow and scale the business
  • Ensure leadership programs support and align with larger company goals
  • Design in-house scalable solutions that include a blended approach to learning such as coaching, classroom training, 1:1 sessions, action learning & e-learning
  • Focus on delivering high impact training that maximizes learner participation, comprehension and application of the material utilizing technology, interaction, and innovative tactics
  • Ensure consistency across the department as new programs and operational standards are rolled out
  • Partner with HR Partners and Relationship Management leads to align on priorities, approaches, processes, and tools.
  • Carry out regular audits on team performance, provide coaching and feedback to, suggest adjustments and improvements to best practice for the team.
  • Design L&D evaluation/metrics strategy to demonstrate effectiveness and return on investment of leadership training

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, OD/Leadership, HR or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Educational Development training certifications, or relevant HR, L&D,  OD or Coaching certifications are a plus
  • 7+ years directly related experience, preferably in a medium-large company or consultancy
  • 3+ years managing others
  • Self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with senior leaders, members of the HR team, and multiple stakeholders throughout the company driving the implementation of critical talent initiatives.
  • Track record of designing engaging and impactful development programs that improves individual, team and company performance.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong logistical planning and organizational skills.
