Summary of Position:

The Senior Director of Resort Group Sales is responsible for leading Colorado resorts, Global Sales Organization and any other new resorts or hotel properties aquired. The Senior Director is responsible for senior level leadership of the sales organization and a senior role on the Marketing, Sales and Communications leadership team. This position will oversee the integration of cross divisional resort group sales efforts in each resort market to enhance the customer experience and ultimately drive overall revenue to the company. This position will be responsible for developing and executing resort group sales strategies to achieve overall revenue targets.  


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for resort sales leadership and strategy to achieve overall revenue targets.
  • Leads the integration of cross-divisional (hospitality and mountain) resort group sales efforts to enhance the group customer experience for all lines of business.
  • Partners with and integrates retail and transportation lines of business.
  • Effectively and proactively partner with key stakeholders including but not limited to revenue management, resort marketing, reservations, food and beverage, tickets, ski school, etc. to deliver group sales results.
  • Participate as the group sales expert with both hospitality and mountain leadership teams to help guide overall operational excellence for the resort ensuring revenue, cost and EBITDA goals are met while providing exceptional service and experiences of a lifetime for both employees and guests at all levels.
  • Partner with National Group Sales team, Leisure and International teams to drive business to the resort.
  • Work collaboratively with town/municipalities and other external stakeholders and influencers to drive overall group sales to the resort.
  • Lead and develop a team of sales and service professionals to achieve individual and team group sales objectives, including: (1) room nights at owned/operated hotels; (2) room nights at partner hotels through referrals and having mountain sales teams working with those hotels; (3) lift tickets, ski school, transportation and retail from all group; and (4) F&B for group at owned/operated hotels.
  • Ensure teams are executing on group sales in a manner that drives a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Manage the Sales office including group contracts and files, establishing sales goals, tracking of sales production for sales bonus plan, etc.
  • Accountable for financial management of operating budget of department and working with local controllers/directors of finance on  capital planning and annual budgeting, forecasting of expenses, forecasting of revenue, settlement of all invoices, monthly reconciliation of P&L.

Job Requirements:

•              Bachelor's degree in Business or related field

•              10+ years sales experience including group sales in a resort/travel industry

•              5+ years successfully leading sales teams

•              Computer skills including:

  • Salesforce
  • Delphi
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Internet

•              English required, Bilingual helpful

•              Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across departments/divisions

•              Ability to successfully influence key stakeholders

•              Ability to develop and own the sales strategy

•              Ability to lead and develop talent
