OVERVIEW:

This role’s purpose is to support the HR and IT leadership in managing the supporting HR technology program portfolio.  Reporting to the Director of HR Technology, this individual will lead the overall HR technology program management.  This is a critical leadership role with direct interactions with the CHRO and CIO and their leadership teams. This position within Vail Resorts comes with high expectations that this leader will establish themselves as a genuine partner to both IT and our HR functions. Day-to-day activities include delivery of large projects, ongoing releases, rigorous prioritization processes, vendor release management and planning, and alignment of vendor roadmaps to our business strategies.

 

SUMMARY:

 

  • IT Project Manager of highly visible and critical projects for the HR strategy, including:
    • Automation of HR transactions in PeopleSoft
    • Trailing work from ServiceNow case management and background check automation implementations
    • Automation of payroll tasks
  • Must have the ability to:
    • Build and execute against detailed project plans
    • Manage stakeholder expectations
    • Manage capital and opex project budgets
    • Prepare and manage cross-team resource plans
    • Schedule and facilitate project team meetings
    • Escalate risks and issues to key HR and IT leaders
    • Collaborate with business-side HR project managers and program manager
    • Provide timely and accurate project status updates to the HR Technology Director
  • Manage the monthly release lifecycle of HR Technology enhancements and defect fixes of all HR systems and modules (Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Learning Management System, Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance Management, Case Management)
    • Prioritize back log with business and IT
    • Work with teams to assess level of effort
    • Schedule releases and contents
    • Run weekly release management meetings to track progress, raise risks/issues
    • Complete release retrospectives
  • Drive:  Develop and drive the accountability of business objectives and supporting IT initiatives
    • Provide project/program facilitation and oversight; facilitate agreement on objectives and success measures, provide overall project/program issue resolution and roadblock removal. 
    • Partner closely at the Director & Sr. Management levels to support key areas of work that focus on highest priorities, including suggesting and managing the best time allocation and use of group meetings
