Summary of Job:

 

Join a growing team!  The Data & Reporting function is an integral part of human resources at Vail Resorts.  By leveraging data and reporting techniques, the Senior Analyst of Data Analytics is responsible for understanding, anticipating, analyzing and ensuring delivery of key data and reports for HR and business stakeholders. The ability to share insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner is a key attribute of a successful Senior Analyst of Data Analytics. This is a highly visible consulting role, and relationship building will be a key component to your success.   Strong presentation skills and an aptitude for distilling large amounts of data into a meaningful and easily consumable story are also important.  Balancing a service-driven approach to support with an honest and independent assessment of talent metrics will be an ongoing challenge of the role.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with HR leaders to provide analytic input to decisions and evaluation of HR effectiveness. 
  • Provide strategic insights and manage data governance and collection.
  • Analyze standard reports and conduct in-depth analysis to formulate insights into HR performance.
  • Communicate conclusions, implications and recommendations of analyses in a clear, concise fashion to support more effective marketing decisions. You are the point of contact for key data questions for HR and will serve as a liaison between the data analyst, technology, and HR leadership.
  • Create presentations to share insights and actionable recommendations in a concise manner with key stakeholders: HR Leadership and team members, and other internal partners.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Project Management, allocate resources and prioritize projects to balance the support of broad initiatives, recurrent reporting and proactive analysis with the direct requests of the analytics team.
  • Maintain accessible knowledge base and archive of past analyses in order to facilitate enterprise wide learning.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Human Resource, Business, Technology, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or Mathematics) required, MBA preferred
  • 4 years previous experience in analytics, financial analysis, consulting, other similar field focused on data driven insights.
  • Proven experience in driving actionable recommendation and decisions based upon data driven insights.
  • Consulting experience is beneficial. Willing to work to develop relationships across the organization.
  • Highly proficient/advanced skills within MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Highly proficient/advanced skills with data visualization software, Tableau preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working with very large data sets, developing tools for streamlined analysis and creating reports that succinctly summarize complex concepts

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Previous experience with reporting or system administration of ATS, CRM, or HRIS systems
  • Previous experience with people analytics
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain deadlines
  • Ability to be self-directed and independent
