North America Sales Manager

 

Mountain News consists of two snow forecasting and skiing resource websites www.OnTheSnow.Com and www.SkiInfo.com.  These sites are supported by sales teams based in Colorado, Germany and France.

 

Mountain News is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded digital media sales executive to drive continued advertising sales growth for the North American Market. As the North American Sales Manager you will be expected to collaborate with direct clients, and agencies to align their digital media objectives and strategy with Mountain News’ capabilities. You will report to the Global Director of Sales, and will work closely with internal Ad Operations and Account Management teams. Candidates must have a strong understanding of the digital media landscape and have a proven ability to meet client expectations by developing strategies and proposals tailored to meet the client’s needs. It is expected that you will have an active network of client-direct and agency relationships, plus a successful track record of closing digital media campaigns.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Continuously prospect, qualify, grow and maintain all sales activities within the defined categories of focus
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of the programmatic and digital media ecosystem
  • Creatively solve problems and design proposals for clients
  • Analyze and interpret key sales metrics and develop strategies to reach sales success
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Mountain Travel Consumer, their passions and what motivates them
  • Generate/increase revenue of new and existing accounts to meet yearly revenue goals
  • Own, manage and develop relationships with clients and agencies through daily communication
  • Grow industry relationships (client meetings, conferences) to gain marketplace expertise
  • Communicate with clients via all modes of communication email, phone, in-person
  • Become a Trusted Advisor to your clients on all things digital related to their business
  • Achieve your sales goals
  • Communicate effectively and seamlessly with Ad Operations, Product Marketing, Research, Content, and Development

Job Requirements:

  • Digital media sales experience, with a digital media publisher,   or marketing technology company
  • College degree
  • Passion for the Mountain Travel Lifestyle
  • 3+ years of digital media sales experience
  • Proven track record of success driving revenue (e.g., ability to capture and close the deal)
  • Knowledge of programmatic, data-focused pricing models and market trends
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, communication, and customer relationship skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities; demonstrated time management skills
  • Strong new business development/prospecting skills
  • A resilient, creative, aggressive approach to the job
  • Ability to travel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.com
