Retail Data Specialist - Corporate - Year Round

Role Summary:

This role’s mission is to facilitate exceptional flow of product from vendors to stores by ensuring data integrity with SKUs and orders.  The ideal candidate for this role will have an understanding of product supply chain and the impact on data integrity to retail front lines as well as sales and inventory reporting.  The person in this role will be an individual contributor-leader on the Retail Data Integrity Team, which is responsible for supporting the Merchant Team’s order writing efforts.  Day to day, this role will execute on and serve as a subject matter expert of internal standards and processes for setting up order writing tools, creating and maintaining SKU data, and managing order data on tight deadlines and will take opportunities to continually improve their and the team’s performance.  This role will secondarily use their expertise to inform approaches to problem-solving issues with SKU and order data in partnership with internal IT, warehouse logistics, and store operations team members. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • With data integrity at the forefront of mind, perform and optimize SKU set-up/maintenance and order writing tools for stakeholders (Vendors and Merchants) to leverage data in their role
  • Source, organize, and use current and future season vendor product line information, including UPCs and pricing, to create and maintain SKUs
  • Enter and revise retail purchase orders accurately by deadlines
  • Identify, research, and make recommendations on gaps and opportunities in existing or potential reporting or processes and collaborate with Supervisor, Data Processing to take action
  • Establish relationships with and work with Data Team, Merchandise Managers, Warehouse Operations Teams, Vendors, Store Operations, and IT through telephone and email communications
  • Facilitate resolution of issues with SKU and order data by working with internal (Merchants, Warehouses, Store Operations, IT) and/or external contacts (Vendors) via email, phone, and in-person
  • Additional projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of experience either as a Retail Data Processor or in a similar role
  • Minimum one year of experience working in retail – operations or support
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with the following technology: Advanced MS Access, Advanced MS Excel, MS Outlook, 10-key data entry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to identify problems/gaps and propose solutions.
  • Customer service oriented
  • Fluent communication in English

Preferred Requirements:

  • Programming knowledge including VB macro
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience in retail field
  • Experience with JDA/AS 400
  • Successful past experience performing high-volume data processing
  • Experience with EDI, SPS Commerce
