Analyst- Procurement Technology

 

About the Team:

The Procurement Technology team is responsible for the setup, configuration, and maintenance of our Procure-to-Pay systems, Coupa and Concur, and works to drive process improvement initiatives through the project life cycle from conceptualization to execution.  The team identifies creative solutions to streamline operational processes using our existing technology, and implements these solutions in support of stakeholder needs. The Procurement Technology team also manages the testing and acceptance of software upgrades for each new release.

 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager of Procurement Technology, the role of Analyst – Procurement Technology will serve as an administrator for our P2P systems, Coupa and Concur. This role is responsible for administering system access and financial setup in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and with internal regulatory procedures. This role will develop a holistic understanding of Vail Resorts’ Procure-to-Pay processes and work cross-functionally with our remote user-base, Accounts Payable, Procurement Operations, and Strategic Sourcing to identify and implement system configuration strategies in support of streamlining P2P processes and enhancing strategic supplier programs. This role is expected to assist with documenting and reengineering processes to streamline work, increase throughput, reduce manual efforts, and drive compliant user behavior using existing technology. This position will be required to manage multiple process improvement projects, play a critical role in testing and roll-out of system upgrades, as well as support a daily transactional workload.

 

About You:

  • Data-driven and technology savvy, able to read system documentation in order to identify opportunities to maximize efficiency within system limitations, troubleshoot system issues in order to identify root cause, and work with external system support teams to bring to resolution
  • Detail-oriented, able to complete tasks accurately within a regulated environment
  • A self-starter, driving end-to-end ownership of tasks both self-assigned and manager-assigned
  • Ambitious, with a strong desire to overcome obstacles presented by stakeholders
  • Able to demonstrate learning agility as business needs change and increase in complexity
  • Must be able to balance multiple projects while providing a high level of customer support
  • Strong communicator, both in writing and in-person

 

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Gain an expert-level understanding of the Vail Resorts P2P systems (Coupa and Concur) and processes including requisition creation, post-order management, inventory, and invoice payment
  • Function as a subject matter expert for Coupa and Concur functionality and capabilities
  • Consult with stakeholders on current processes and programs to identify current gaps in process, and drive user compliance using existing technological resources
  • Serve as a point of technical support and escalation, assisting the user-base in relation to advanced system usage and troubleshooting
  • Leverage a strong working relationship and align with the Procurement Operations and Accounts Payable Teams
  • Provide technical consultation to corporate-wide cross-functional teams to address the need for changes to processes, policies, and procedures

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science, , Finance, Supply-Chain, Economics, or related field; relevant work experience also accepted in lieu of education requirements
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience; process documentation or process improvement experience a plus
  • Experience as a software administrator, especially in SaaS software configuration and testing
  • Prior experience using or administering Coupa or Concur is preferred
  • Experience implementing software solutions to meet business needs
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Exposure to Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, IT, or related fields preferred 
  • Ability to lead and influence stakeholders utilizing strong analytical skills, negotiation skills, and verbal & written communication
