Reporting to the VP of Procurement, the Procurement Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all of our operational needs while leading the effort to develop a supplier diversity program. The individual will have significant interaction with the source to pay leadership team to drive improved operations and support to the S2P organization. Specifically, he/she will be expected to manage the functional operating cadence and reporting, budget planning and maintenance, internal and external S2P communications, and to lead the success of a sustainable supplier diversity program.

 

Applicants should be self-motivated, meticulous, possess problem-solving skills, and have examples of learning agility. The individual should have proven track record to quickly build subject matter expertise and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with challenging priorities. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated the ability to persevere through ambiguity; an innate inquisitiveness; possess the drive to extend analytical capabilities; and have demonstrated emergent leadership capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the functional coordinator for the source-to-pay organization.
  • Develops and implements reports and metrics regarding worldwide sourcing activities as well as anticipated changes. Organizes and co-ordinates the periodic issuance of status reports, supervising results against goals (long-range planning (LRP), and continuous improvement, CIP).
  • Leads procurement approval routes with an external orientation on industry standard methodologies.
  • Guarantee constructive communication, coordination and collaboration between this team and other Vail functions such as: Internal Control, H&S, Finance, Legal, and IT. Forms relationships and develops open dialogue with regional and global management with Vail teams.
  • Work with the Procurement Directors/Sr. Managers to develop and implement new initiatives in support of corporate and business strategies.
  • Lead the development and ownership of functional operating procedures. Identifies training needs on a global basis. Delivers training as needed.
  • Ensure trade payable compliance with Procurement Ethics, Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporate Standards, Values, audit rules and laws. Acts as a liaison between Procurement and Audit Committee.
  • Facilitates and coordinates development of functional goals and objectives, including savings targets, employee development goals and process evolution plans to ensure best-in-class procurement functional performance.
  • Coordinates closely with corporate planning to ensure functional budget plan and performance align corporate objectives and expectation. Conducts regular forecasting exercise to ensure budget targets are met.
  • Develops and implement a diversity supplier inclusion and development program.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, coordination, and cooperation between the function and other functions. Builds relationships and develop open communications with each key business partners.
  • Completes operational audits of procurement activity.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Finance, Business, Economics, Communications, or related field; 3+ years relevant work experience also accepted in lieu of education requirements
  • Strong organization and communication skills paired with analytical and problem solving aptitude
  • Comfortable acting with autonomy under ambiguous circumstances in a fast paced environment – especially with regards to being in front of issues and proactively aligning with business partners on remediation action plans
  • Adaptive to change and able to respond to varied and unique requests while meeting Source-to-Pay’s objectives
  • Perform analyses and prepare reports in order to ensure that programs meet or exceed goals
  • Distilling insights and crafting compelling recommendations through analyses and data visualization
  • Where appropriate, bring up questions and issues to the functional leadership team along with recommendations for mitigating actions
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred:

  • Finance and/or Communications background preferred
  • Strong executive presence and experience with business operations management
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in procurement, specifically in building out supplier diversity programs

 

 

 

The budgeted range starts at $73,000-$88,950 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
