About the Team:

Reporting to the Manager of Procurement Operations, the role of Analyst – Procurement Operations is a crucial link between the Vail Resorts Procurement department and the purchasing system’s user-base on-site at each resort. The Procurement Operations team is responsible for providing insight and solutions to the Procurement Technology team, helping to ensure the system is configured to promote adherence to Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and strategic supplier programs.


About the Role:

This role works in conjunction with our remote user-base, Accounts Payable, Procurement Technology, and Strategic Sourcing functions, to guarantee seamless process flow in support of day-to-day purchasing activities at each location. This position will be required to manage select process improvement projects, based on a combination of system data and stakeholder feedback. This individual will assist in managing supplier and Coupa user compliance by identifying, developing, and instituting best practices, ultimately creating streamlining opportunities for Procurement and across Vail Resorts.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Gain an expert-level understanding of the Vail Resorts P2P systems (Coupa) and processes including requisition creation, post-order management, inventory, and invoice payment
  • Focus on internal customer satisfaction by providing scalable solutions to customer requests or issues and providing any necessary training
  • Serve as a point of Operational support and escalation, including assisting the Accounts Payable team in relation to the ordering process or advanced system usage troubleshooting
  • Leverage a strong working relationship and align with the Procurement Technology team
  • Partner with Sourcing Operations and Strategic Sourcing to support category strategies and supplier relationships from a system and process perspective
  • Perform data-driven root cause analysis to proactively identify areas for improvements across the P2P function with minimal manager direction
  • Coordinate corporate-wide cross-functional teams to address the need for changes to processes, policies, and procedures


Desired Skills & Experience:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Business, Finance, Supply-Chain, Economics, or related field; relevant work experience also accepted in lieu of education requirements
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience; process documentation or process improvement experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Exposure to Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or related fields preferred 
  • Ability to lead and influence stakeholders utilizing strong analytical skills, negotiation skills, and verbal & written communication
