Job Summary:

The Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value.  The Mountain Finance team drives comprehensive financial planning, forecasting and analysis to enable the company to align its resources with the achievement of its strategic goals- both long term and short term.  The Mountain Finance team in Broomfield leads the central Financial Planning & Analysis for the division and works closely with resort and corporate leadership.


The Prin. Analyst Mountain FP&A position will be responsible for delivering actionable business and strategic insights.  There are three open positions with similar responsibilities and each is responsible for a different Line of Business: 1) Lift Revenue, 2) Ski School and Summer contribution and 3) F&B contribution.  The roles will work closely with the resort teams to identify business insight to inform and drive decisions, improvements and higher accuracy in forecasting and budgeting.  The position is located in Broomfield and reports to the Senior Director of Mountain Finance. 


Primary responsibilities:

  • Delivering business insights by:
    • Providing cross-resort comparisons and analytics
    • Analyzing trends in the business to support decision making
    • Evaluating labor and expense margins and cost saving opportunities
  • Execute value-add analysis and decision support for business projects and initiatives
  • Develop finance & business presentations for Mountain leadership, Executive Committee and Board of Directors that can effectively summarize materials into key assumptions, risks/opportunities and decision points
  • Creation and execution of executive dashboards, business intelligence and other operational analytic tools
  • Active partnership with the resort teams and corporate leadership
  • Review budgets, monthly forecasting and monthly results with focus on key drivers and inputs needed for accurate and timely forecast



5+ years’ experience (or 2-3 years with MBA or other graduate degree) in finance or accounting with demonstrated success in financial modeling and analysis.   The ideal candidate would have experience in financial planning and analysis functions, including annual budget, capital budgeting, long-term strategic planning and resource allocation processes.
