Job Summary

The Paid Media function exists at Vail Resorts to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of paid media across the enterprise.  A trusted Manager at Vail Resorts takes pride in driving quantifiable results, providing data-driven media recommendations, and executing plans that truly affect consumer behavior. The Manager of Paid Search position will be responsible for the strategic oversight of all Vail Resorts PPC campaigns, which include initiatives for season pass, lift tickets, ski and ride school, equipment rentals, lodging, retail, meetings, weddings, summer activities, and international resort visitation. This team member will lead day-to-day management of the enterprise’s PPC agency, and will report to the Group Manager of Conversion Media. The ideal candidate for this role not only has a passion for search engine marketing, but would be eager to learn about broader enterprise paid media strategy and tactics (e.g. Site Retargeting, Paid Social, etc.), as this individual would have the opportunity to grow into a broader paid media role in the future. This team member should have strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, a self-starter mindset, and a willingness to challenge and re-imagine the status quo.


Job Responsibilities

  • Plan Development – Define go-to-market PPC strategy and KPIs for all lines of business. Lead development of 1st and 3rd party audience strategies.     
  • Stakeholder Management – Work directly with LOB-specific teams to drive business results. Re-imagine process for ad copy development, which now includes 37 resort brands.
  • Agency Management – Day-to-day oversight of VR’s search agency partner. Prioritize agency work. Review keywords, ad copy updates, and campaign recommendations.
  • Measurement & Optimization – In-depth analysis of PPC campaign performance. Present weekly optimizations based on the aligned-to KPIs. Utilize third party PPC tools to uncover new opportunities and competitive insights. 
  • Budget Management – Work with agency to provide spend recommendations, and ensure all campaigns come in on budget.
  • Innovation – Monitor industry trends. Working with Google Account Managers to identify beta test opportunities.


Job Requirements


  • 5+ years of paid search experience
  • Experience managing PPC for a large enterprise with multiple brands and KPIs
  • Strong analytical skills (Preferably experience working within Adobe Analytics)
  • Experience working with 3rd party tools (e.g. Search Monitor, SEMRush, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive under pressure
  • Confident self-starter with the desire to learn more and develop as a leader


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Experience with international media
  • Experience utilizing audiences in Google Ads
  • Experience with other Google products (GDN, YouTube, DV360)
  • SEO experience a plus


The budgeted range starts at $68,100 - $81,700 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
